The Antidote is a series of journeys among people who share a single, surprising way of thinking about life. What they have in common is a hunch about human psychology: that it’s our constant effort to eliminate the negative that causes us to feel so anxious, insecure, and unhappy. And that there is an alternative "negative path" to happiness and success that involves embracing the things we spend our lives trying to avoid.

What i enjoyed most about this book is that it was presented like a university lecture. Many different views were presented, personal stories were shared, and sources were mentioned. The Antidote seems designed to make you think about your life and decide if you would like to make changes, rather than telling you you need to change and dictate what to do with your life. Many a discussion was promted by these chapters and that made it absolutely worth the time.

Following Jane from her childhood as an orphan in Northern England through her experience as a governess at Thornfield Hall, Charlotte Brontë's Gothic classic is an early exploration of women's independence in the mid-19th century and the pervasive societal challenges women had to endure. At Thornfield, Jane meets the complex and mysterious Mr. Rochester, with whom she shares a complicated relationship that ultimately forces her to reconcile the conflicting passions of romantic love and religious piety.

The story is great. Thandie Newton did an amazing job narrating the tale, she helped bring the characters to life. I believe this will now be my go-to book when im in want of a story.

The cozy little town of Pine Deep buried the horrors of its past a long time ago. Thirty years have gone by since the darkness descended and the Black Harvest began, a time when a serial killer sheared a bloody swath through the quiet Pennsylvania village. The evil that once coursed through Pine Deep has been replaced by cheerful tourists getting ready to enjoy the country’s largest Halloween celebration in what is now called “The Spookiest Town in America.”

This is one story I will absolutely listen to again and again. The narrator's voice was perfect for this story. He was able to bring me to tears, terrify me, and make me smile.
