When Monster Hunter International's top hunter, Owen Zastava Pitt, was given a tip about some hunters who had gone missing in action, he didn't realize their rescue mission would snowball into the single biggest operation in MHI's history. Their men are being held prisoner in a horrific nightmare dimension, and the only way to reach them is through the radioactive ruins of a monster-infested war zone. As if that wasn't bad enough, it's also the home base of the powerful creature behind the devastating attacks on the Last Dragon and Copper Lake.

I truly enjoyed this book. Earl is one of my favorite characters. So getting a chance to learn more about him and his back story was really great. I also like that this book was mainly about another character, as much as I like Owen it's still nice that the author is letting another character shine in this series.

This is definitely one of those books that will keep your attention once you get into it.
I purchased this book sometime ago and forgot all about it. Then one night I started listening to it and could not stop. It was such a interesting and different take on vampirism. It certainly wasn't a fluffy kitten vampire story. This was more hardcore, don't get me wrong I enjoy the cozy stories too. However this was so different it was oddly refreshing. It was in no way predictable and you become so invested in the characters that I sometimes found myself literally on the edge of my seat or even sometimes jumping up, lol, I know weird right.

Every voice sounds exactly the same. It was a little off putting hearing these huge masculine hockey players (with beards), and all of them sound like a soft voice female or little boys. Her version of the Canadian accent was just putting the word (aye) in a sentence every now and then. She doesn't have a bad voice. I would just suggest that they should have done a narrative collaboration with a male to narrate for the men or found a different woman who knows how to play dual roles.
