Family is not always defined by blood. It's defined by those who make us whole - those who make us who we are. And here, at the end, Bear and Otter will be tested like they've never been before. There's a knock at the door from a little girl who has nowhere else to go. There's a phone ringing, bringing news they do not expect. There's a brother returning home after learning how to stand on his own. As these moments converge, all of their lives will change forever.

The perfect end to BOATK - no huge upsets, no big plot twists, no really big earthquakes (only little ones), but the very best ending to this saga you could wish for.

Brett Taylor's world collapsed three years ago when he lost the love of his life. Almost as bad as the grief is the advice he's starting to get from everyone and their brother, telling him it's time to move on. They're flat-out wrong. He left his career as a musician and escaped to his ranch because he needs the peace and quiet, and he's doing just fine. He doesn't want anyone invading his memory-filled, booze-fueled solitude.

Can someone say predictable? I'm afraid the plot was laid out like a straight road in a desert. Unfortunately the writing didn't make up for it - it was just okay. So the book is okay. I did find myself wanting it to end...

If you've only read BOATK or other books in that vain, you'll be forgiven for thinking he's best at fluff. Take the time to read Murmuration. Without giving the plot away, he tells a story of an almost too good to be true small town, which kinda is. A story of the best parts of what we can be.

Derek Pearson likes to think he's an easygoing guy. Uncomplicated, upfront, and unapologetic with what he wants. His what you see is what you get attitude is on prominent display for anyone who cares to look, and his foul mouth is right there to back it up should you miss the point. However, what you see isn't always what you get, and only a select few have ever glimpsed the real man under the brash exterior.

I'm a huge TJ Klune fan, although in my opinion, he's better at writing drama than the more light hearted stuff. In this book, TJ does not disappoint. Just like "Into this River I drown", TJ is at his very very best. I really hope this will not be his last foray into shifter world - and this book begs for a sequel. How 'bout it TJ?
