Maxon James understands me in a way others can’t. For as long as I can remember, he’s vowed that one day he would claim my wild, rebel heart. God knows I wanted him to try. I wanted the life he promised me in his lyrics. But his assurances couldn’t change the past, and the infamous mafia blood in my veins guarantees my heart can’t be claimed. Somewhere along the way, I slipped. I let myself believe we could have it all. Now a dark, menacing shadow hovers between us, mocking us for daring to hope for a normal future.

This is my first Molly McAdams book. I found it a little dark, but I love a good plot twist and this story has one.
The narrators are excellent and did a great job of telling this story.

"Forty rooms" is a conceit: It proposes that a modern woman will inhabit 40 rooms in her lifetime. They form her biography, from childhood to death. For our protagonist, the much-loved child of a late marriage, the first rooms she is aware of as she nears the age of five are those that make up her family's Moscow apartment. We follow this child as she reaches adolescence, leaves home to study in America, and slowly discovers sexual happiness and love.

Any additional comments?

This is a deep and wonderful story, told by a masterful narrator. Christa Lewis brings all the characters to life and each "room" is very distinct. This is a journey, and a very emotional story.

Alasdair Masters is in a rut. He just hit forty and has been nearly celibate for the past year, and his life has turned into a daily sequence of lonely patterns that revolve around avoiding human contact. His tidy life is turned on its head when a hot, young blonde at the gym who's been pseudo-stalking him decides to rock his world. A very young blonde. Way, way too young for him. The problem is he can't seem to tell her no, and she just keeps coming back for more.

I loved this series. It's OMG steamy, so fragile ears be warned. Iris is a complicated creature, which is rounded out by her intellect. "Dare" is confused and sexy.
RK Lilley's writing paints a dramatic yet fun picture. Jason Clarke is a perfection as a narrator. His narration pulls it all together. It's a total ride. Enjoy!

Taylor Harden is a man on the edge. The edge of fame. The edge of untold wealth. The edge of utter humiliation. He built an unhackable system, and in front of everyone, it gets hacked. His reputation goes from king to goat in a split second. Boom. Like that. Some dude in Barrington, USA (AKA Nowhere) has locked down Taylor's code, and if he does not get it back, he is going to be wearing a monkey suit for the rest of his life. Except, this guy? This hacker from Nowhere? He is not a guy.

This novel has all the right elements. Ambition, mystery, sex and a good love story. Top it off with excellent writing, it's a masterpiece.
Christian Fox is always amazing, but this book was a perfect pairing for his narration.
This book is very hot. If steamy and voracious sex in a book is not your style, this book may burn your ears.

Needless to say, I had a great time listening to this book.

I listened to this book twice. The writing is beautiful. The relationships are complicated and well developed. The love is hot and needy and honest. Jason Clarke is a perfect choice for this book. His voice is sexy and sweet. Well done all the way around. Note: There is a lot of sex, and it's not always straight forward. If you have more conservative ears, this book may not be a good choice for you.

Joel Anderson doesn't take anything seriously. Not his relationships, which have been few and far between since his brutal divorce. Not the drama of working in a tattoo parlor, which seems to be around every corner. When things get him down, he smiles and cracks a joke. But he's not the kind of man you cross, or you'll find yourself at the wrong end of his fists. A standalone romantic comedy.
