In the hyper-realistic player versus player MMORPG Fantasy Realms Online, Kromgorn the Barbarian remains trapped alongside his friends by the evil schemes of the Lich-Lord. But despite finding a temporary way to fight back against their enemies in the Secret Order, he's still stuck in the avatar of a simpering Courtesan named Lacey - a female character that was designed exclusively to get down and dirty with the in-game pleasure system. When the Lich-Lord's lackeys use a dirty trick to capture his best friends and guildmates, Kromgorn is forced to learn some dirty tricks of her own.

To the world, I'm a just a Conjurer. To my closest friends, I'm a FireSoul - a dangerous Magica with forbidden powers and a dragon's soul. The downside? If anyone discovers what I am, I'm dead. So I lay low, kicking butt with my weapons, not my magic. Things get ugly when I witness the murder of a powerful vampire ally and become the key suspect. Soon, I'm hunted by the sexiest, strongest supernatural I've ever met. Ares is an unheard of vampire hybrid, and it's hard to say if he wants to kiss me or kill me. I've got three days to catch the real killer.

I binge read the books as each 5 came out, but I relaxed and took my time with this audio as it was the last 5 books of the set. It was done very well and I recommend it.

In the player-versus-player MMORPG, Fantasy Realms Online, people live out the fantasies they can't in real life, no matter how bloody or sexy they might be, and Kromgorn the Barbarian is no exception. But when the Lich-Lord releases a powerful spell that traps most of the players in the game permanently, Kromgorn accidentally winds up stuck in the avatar of his friend, Lacey - a stupid, low-level female character that was designed exclusively to get down and dirty with the in-game pleasure system.

I really liked this one. It was even better than the last. The chapter breaks were placed just right so I could stop and not have to remember what was going on. The narrator kept me engaged and was not tiring to listen to. This story added details to the author's universe that I hadn't missed before.

Hi, how are you? Yes, I am talking to you, the reader of this book's description. Okay, I get it, fourth-wall breaking is overdone. Get over it. This book, Villains Rule, is a fantasy action-comedy which you have to hear. Not because it redefines the genre, far from it. But rather for what it contains. A villain's tale. How often do you get to listen to a story where the villain is the protagonist? No, not an anti-hero, or a brooding monster, nor a hero thinly disguised as a villain. And not evil. If you want evil, take that nonsense to therapy.

Is it ever too late to do what is right? A fusion of steampunk and superheroics...this is the Rail. Mix in a healthy dose of human foibles, and you are in for a reading on the ups and downs of paranormals, how people react to them, and how their actions shape (and destroy) the world around them.

I should start by saying this was not what I expected. You won't hear of men in tights flying thru the air, but normally-dressed people with hidden powers. It was still a good story with quality narration. It's a bit slow starting, but gets exciting as one continues.

This was a roller-coaster ride of a story in so many ways. The author created a highly detailed world with characters one can relate to. The narrator provides unique and memorable voices for the characters (which is good as the author swaps them between chapters without warning). I especially like the dragon's thoughts.
