Allander Atlasia is an infamous psychopath whose heinous crimes have earned him a lifetime stay at the Tower, the world's most extreme maximum-security prison. But after a brilliant and brutal escape, the criminal mastermind begins a killing spree that is intensely personal. Jade Marlow is an ex-FBI profiler and tracker whose fearlessness is only surpassed by the severity of his own inner demons. The narrator does a very good job with an awful story. Every cliché you have every heard of is here. The hero is a total AH. Of course we are given the reason later but it doesn't change anything. You can see the ending coming half way through the book. If you have read anything in this genre you want find anything new that isn't awful. I was able to type this up during the climax because nothing was coming that needed concentration.

Former Marine Captain Alexander Hale only wanted a weekend out with some old buddies. He could have done without the gang war, the shootout, and...oh yeah, the alien abduction. Now he's in the middle of something he doesn't understand, never asked for, and is having quite possibly the greatest time of his life. Semper Fi and which way are the shores of Tripoli anyway?

I have enjoyed this series and look forward to the next book in the series. However, this stand-alone book should have been named Star Wars. We have The Force, we have Luke, we have Darth Vader, and we even have Yoda complete with the same voice. Very disappointing. As usual the narrator was great but couldn't save this book.

Colonel Joe Bishop made a promise, and he's going to keep it: taking the captured alien starship Flying Dutchman back out. He doesn't agree when the UN decides to send almost 70 elite Special Operations troops, hotshot pilots, and scientists with him; the mission is a fool's errand he doesn't expect to ever return from. At least this time, the Earth is safe, right? Not so much.

First off, three-fourths of this book is a non-fiction history lesson of Mississippi in the forties and fifties, and World War II in the Philippines. If you do not know much about those subjects and want a historical account this is the book for you. The other one-fourth of the book is the actual non-fiction story. This section is spread out in small sections across the 18-hour book. This part would have made a decent short story. I love John Grisham but not this book.

If you took out the two-thirds of run on and on science explanations it would be a good length book. Next, you would need to change the narrator or tell her just to use her own voice. I have seen books done both ways one the narrator just does there own voice for the whole book and ones where they use different voices. Both can work. This narrator trying to use different voices was terrible. That with the run on length made it boring and tedious.
