Most, if not all, of us are a little intimidated when it comes to learning about philosophy; especially ancient philosophy. This book however delivers the powerful philosophy of stoicism and the inspirational life of Marcus Aurelius in a way that is not only educational and uplifting, but is also entertaining and riveting. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to take a deeper dive into self-mastery, emotional intelligence, and philosophical understanding. It can help each of us, fate permitting.

I was absolutely floored by this book. I wish I could retroactively take all the 5 Star reviews I've given away and make this the first one because it has set a new standard for excellence; just like David Goggins would want. If you ever want to accomplish anything, push yourself harder, do better, this book gives you the bloody and sweat-drenched instruction manual to so. There's no trick to being the exceptional among the exceptional. Just put in the work.

This book did not disappoint. Often, when it comes to hailed literature, I find the result to be a bit underwhelming. The Shining however thrills, terrifies, excites, intrigues, and touches you on every word. Absolutely loved it.

It's a rare gift to be able to hear and fully understand both sides of a conflict. As a kid, I was raised with the cliche of the "brave soldier and the savage Indian". As I got older and more socially conscious, my point of view shifted to "the noble Native and the greedy government". Now, thanks to the help of this book and many like it, I have come to a balanced, nuanced understanding of these events. No Native was pure savage or pure nobility. No soldier was pure brute or pure hero. Every person and event is infinitely more complicated than we can truly understand. This book is a perfect representation of that fact.

This book is full of life-changing principles and ideas that have helped to reshape the way I view not only romantic relationships with significant others but how I treat myself, my family, my past, and my friends. Would definitely recommend. My only issues were the gratuity of the middle section of the book and the recommend and not-altogether-welcome extra voice actors who popped in and out. Other than that, great read.

Even if she's no Hemingway or Brando, Kendrick gives an endearing and insightful look into the world of theater, film, fame, and adulthood. It's relatable, engaging, and all around a good time.
