Journey along with a meditation master and former "pharmacological purist" as he explores the spiritual heart of the psychedelic experience to discover the potential benefits and dangers of these substances. Richard L. Haight provides an extraordinarily powerful, unbiased account of hallucinogens as they relate to the spiritual path.

Audiobook: The Psychedelic Path
An Exploration of Shamanic Plants for Spiritual Awakening
A generous three stars

I'm not sure how I felt about this audiobook. I'm over 50 and have learned early on not to believe everything you read (or hear). I'd like to make it clear that I have zero interest in using hallucinagenic drugs or anything else. I love the idea of higher enlightenment but through other channels. I meditate, reflect, and pray daily,

I would recommend NOT doing the drugs to explore deeper into the mind or for a 'vision quest' or anything else however I've known people that have taken acid and didn't have all these negative experiences.

I don't want to denigrate this author's experiences with hallucinagenic plants or anything else but a lot of this sounded like hogwash. Too much about demons, tricksters, Jesus, and suicide. Pass....

Gus was a super cute short children's story. I think the time was perfect but maybe the age group should be a little older, say 4-7 rather than 0-4. I suspect a little older age group would understand it better and be more entertained. I myself loved it. I think my youngest grandkiddo would enjoy it as well.

The narration by Laura Hesse was good. I've listened to her before and enjoy her work.

This was indeed specific. For being such a short intro, this sounds like it's going to be a great series. It was finely detailed and atmospheric. I liked Kalyah instantly. I'm curious to see what follows. A great beginning for J Ferrigan.

The narration by Amy Wisenfeld was excellent. She had great voice inflections and in my opinion was the perfect reader for this story. Hopefully she will narrate the rest of the series. And hopefully part two will be longer.

Sarah Garland, a retired homicide detective who's gone through a painful divorce, seems to have found her peace at last, as a coffeeshop owner in the sleepy (and freezing) small town of Snow Falls, Alaska. What she didn't expect was for her past life to catch up with her. Or for her new life as a mystery writer to inspire a deadly killer to target her.

The Snowman Killer was a great listen. I loved this audiobook for a three hour action-packed cozy. It was a complete short with a fun setting in Alaska and great characters with Sarah and Conrad. This was a light listen, not super heavy. I really enjoyed it. This is the first audiobook I've listened to by Wendy Meadows but not the first with this narrater.

Narrator:

Sheree Wichard was the perfect reader for this audiobook. I've listened to her before and love her work. This one was terrific with the different characterizations along with good voice inflectioms. I really enjoy listening to her. This was an overall enjoyable listen.

Audiobook: DARK PSYCHOLOGY; PERSUASION
( Master the Secret Techniques of Covert Emotional Manipulation, Stealth Persuasion, and Mind Control )

Dark Psychology was an excellent listen. It was three hours that went by too fast as it was packed with straightforward information without any waste. I agree with the author S.L. Moore about the tactics used by the people mentioned in this audiobook. I've seen this repeatedly and recognize it but sadly many wear blinders.

One of the topics touched upon was active listening. This is something that is so important and I'm not sure but it is a learned behaviour. From my own experience I like to occasionally ask the person I'm speaking to if they can repeat some of what I said.

Another couple of topics were social media and branding. The author did a fab job explaining these in relation to manipulation. Even another was self respect and body language. That to me speaks volumes. And Q's story was really good also. This was an overall EXCELLENT listen and I would recommend this all day. It's an eye-opener and perhaps for some a revelation.

Narration: Madison Niederhauser did and outstanding job reading this audiobook. These are first time author and narrator for me and they really worked well together. The narration was perfect. He spoke clearly with a great tone and voice inflections. This was a perfect match with both author and reader.

Audiobook: DEBT COLLECTOR
(A Jack Winchester Thriller, Book 4 )

I really enjoyed listening to this noir-ish thriller. It was suspenseful and hard to turn off at bedtime. I liked the character of Winchester as well as the supporting characters he was trying to help his family. I enjoyed the grittiness of the setting being in New Orleans. It was weird for me with the character of the same name as me. This is the first audiobook I've listened to in this series and by Jon Mills. I think the length was perfect. An overall great listen and I would listen to more in the series as well.

Narration: Adam Gold did an excellent job narrating this audiobook. He sounded the part almost too perfectly. A few times it may have been just a hair overenunciated but better that than under. Another thing I really liked is that I noticed that Adam Gold narrates this whole series so far. That's great as I think it connects with the listener on a better level. It shows consistency which is what I like. An overall great job and recommended listening.

“Mr. Kendall, in the past few months there have been a number of doctors who have mysteriously disappeared, or whose deaths were either alleged to be accidents, or were suicides, or they were actually murdered.” Kendall made a mental note to find out about these "other doctors". “A number of doctors you said. How many are we talking about?” Mrs. Eaton thought for a few moments. “To my knowledge there have been at least eight cases in the past six months. There may be a whole lot more that I know nothing about.”

Audiobook: DIAGNOSIS MURDER ( Kendall, Book 7 )

I'm not sure EXACTLY what went wrong here but I can name a few possibilities unlike Kendall. I will attempt a diagnosis based on this one book, not the series. I have listened to two other audiobooks written by John Holt and enjoyed them quite a bit. Both were under two hours. Both of those audiobooks had different narrators.

This audiobook was redundant. It just seemed to go in circles. At almost nine hours, it was an arduous listen. It had either none or very little editing. Edit, edit, edit. I would've also liked more character depth. Along with that, I wasn't thrilled. Next is the narration. The reading didn't go with the story or genre. It felt disconnected.

Narrator: Mark Sando

I think he's a great reader with a strong, clear voice and good inflections but not for this audiobook. It sounded too cheery where it could've had more trepidation as if to give the listener the edge of seat feel which is what you want in a mystery thiller.

I like this author and narrator and they both have different styles. I wish them both to be very successful and if I'm being honest, I think my review is a fair assessment.

When the story begins, a mother duck's eggs hatch. One of the little birds is perceived by the other birds and animals on the farm as a homely little creature and suffers much verbal and physical abuse from them. He wanders sadly from the barnyard and lives with wild ducks and geese until hunters slaughter the flocks. He finds a home with an old woman. The duckling sees a flock of migrating wild swans. He is delighted and excited, but he cannot join them, for he is too young and cannot fly.
