As the shadows of the Empire loom ever larger across the galaxy, so do deeply troubling rumors. The Rebellion has learned of a sinister Imperial plot to bring entire worlds to their knees. Deep in Empire-dominated space, a machine of unimaginable destructive power is nearing completion. A weapon too terrifying to contemplate...and a threat that may be too great to overcome.

Even before reading I have felt this has been Disney’s greatest addition to the Star Wars universe. Not surprisingly, the book exceeds the movie. Great character development, insight, and expanded plot points for an already enjoyable and exciting story!

Surprisingly solid storyline and character development. Bridges the gap between Ep. 3 and Rouge 1 very nicely. Much better story than I anticipated. Gives great background into the development of the Death Star.

Mischievous and resolved, courageous to the point of recklessness, Anakin Skywalker has come of age in a time of great upheaval. The 19-year-old apprentice to Obi-Wan Kenobi is an enigma to the Jedi Council, and a challenge to his Jedi Master. Time has not dulled Anakin's ambition, nor has his Jedi training tamed his independent streak.

Although the movie isn’t the strongest of the prequels, I found this story to be better as a book. Don’t love everything about this chapter in the Star Wars story, but overall I’m glad I listened to this audiobook. It gave me more appreciation for the characters and this part of the lore.

Not the best Star Wars book I’ve listened to. Terrible volume control and probably the worst effects of any audiobook I’ve listened to. However, Maul is a great character and I ended up really liking the characters that were built throughout the story! Ending is a little bit drawn out but overall it is a decent book.
