Peregrine Dalmay, Earl of Lisle, may have survived the deadly perils of Egypt, but back in Regency London, he faces the most dire threat yet: his irrational, emotional family...and the completely uncontrollable Miss Olivia Wingate-Carsington! Descended from a line of notorious - but very aristocratic - adventurers, Olivia has a long history of driving Peregrine to distraction, and her debut into polite society hasn't lessened her flair for drama, or her ability to drag him into her scandalous schemes.

I loved the banter during the first half of this story and I thought I had found a new favorite. However, the second half was so boring!! I barely finished. The narrator was good, but I prefer a narrator to be age appropriate and not sound like a grandmother when narrating young characters. Her male voices were very good, though.

Lady Aline Marsden was brought up for one reason: to make an advantageous marriage to a member of her own class. Instead, she willingly gave her innocence to John McKenna, a servant on her father’s estate. Their passionate transgression was unforgivable - John was sent away, and Aline was left to live in the countryside - an exile from London society - and he took her love. Now McKenna has made his fortune, and he has returned - more boldly handsome and more mesmerizing than before.

I read this book many years ago and liked it, so I decided to pick it up as an audiobook. I have listened to Rosalyn Landor before, and for the life of me, I cannot figure out why she is a popular narrator. Her female voices are decent. Her male voices make all the males sound like a disgruntled grandpa. Her American accents are cringe worthy. The story is a good one, maybe not a favorite, but good. :-)

I really enjoyed this!! The narration was spot on, and I am super picky!! The ending was a little disappointing compared to the rest of the story, I'm just not a fan of the way she chose to write the conflict at the conclusion. It was weird. But, I loved the book overall, especially the characters.

I loved the first book in this series!! This one was so boring! I finally just quit listening towards the end.

I love this narrator for female voices and general narration. She needs to work on her male voices, though. Sometimes, our hero sounded like an old villain. His voice was not consistent.

They're from two different worlds.

He lives in the estate house, and she spends most of her time in the stables helping her father train horses. In fact, Savannah has always been much more comfortable around horses than boys. Especially boys like Jack Goodwin - cocky, popular, and completely out of her league. She knows the rules: no mixing between the staff and the Goodwin family. But Jack has no such boundaries. With her dream of becoming a jockey, Savannah isn't exactly one to follow the rules, either.

First of all, I realize that this narrator has a great voice. I'm sure he would work very well for Historical FICTION novels. He does not work well for a romance. I like my narrators to be of similar age to the characters. It sounds like grandpa reading romance and it does not work. The female voice in this story was cringe worthy...

Next, the characters had no chemistry. Therefore, the story was a bore. I didn't finish it.
