Would you consider the audio edition of The One That Got Away to be better than the print version?

Have not read the printed version, but I don't think this book could be any better in any format.

What did you like best about this story?

The main character of this story has an absolute conviction to survive.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Zoe decides what her future vocation would be.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I cried when Zoe was brought to her friend (Holli's) grave. The heartfelt grief and the over powering belief that she had betrayed that friend's trust when she left her at the mercy of a crazed lunatic.

Any additional comments?

A very good book. The only bad thing about this book is...You don't want to put it down.

What did you love best about The Next Victim?

The characters were very believable. I love a story that you can really believe. This one, for me has everything that I love in a mystery.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I kept wondering if Kali was treading on dangerous ground...Sure enough she is.

Which character – as performed by Cindy Piller – was your favorite?

Each character is performed perfectly, their flaws and all brought to life. You can understand their conflicts, even as you hate the reasoning behind them. So human that it is almost like a true crime story. Narration was really good.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. When I had to put it down; I just couldn't wait to get back to it. There were so many interesting things going on with several of the main characters...And just had to find out finally, just who the culprit was.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Someone with a lot more patience than I have. I tried and tried to get into this book. The false southern drawl really put me off. Maybe this book is better if it were in paperback. Not that the narrator wasn't talented...Just that awful southern drawl...And I am Southern, and have a drawl.

Would you ever listen to anything by VLZ again?

Yes, I would try again. Just not this one.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

I don't really know. Just don't try to use a southern drawl.

What character would you cut from The Hut in the Woods?

To me it was just a jumble of people...Maybe less people and less babel.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes I would recommend this audiobook to anyone looking for a good light mystery. This book is very entertaining. Great reader too!

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

This book has a bit of everything: A little romance, A lovely Landlady (although very ill),A sleazy Landlord, A homeless guy (but a really good guy), A best friend (but she is a pesky matchmaker), A handsome Pet Store owner, Bella (a huge black German Shepherd), A very suspicious Character (Charlie)...And, MURDER!

What about Anne James’s performance did you like?

Wonderful performance! Loved this Reader.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed, cried, got angry, and at times was beside myself. Kate really took some very wild chances. I would be thinking..."NO! NO! ARE YOU CRAZY? Don't go off on your own with Charlie...In the woods...After dark!!" Then of course at the end...I cried...Not giving any more than that away.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book to anyone that likes a real mystery, with lots of twists and turns. You just never know just who is crazy and what will come next. Has a good bit of pay back in it...Loved it. Narrator does a great job also. I will be looking for another Salnikova book real soon.

What did you like best about this story?

The payback is great, the characters are outstanding, and you never know what will happen next. Just when you think you know...Pow. What a book. Loved everything about it.

Which character – as performed by Stephanie Dillard – was your favorite?

Stephanie did such a great job on all characters, it is hard to pick just one. Loved to hate ALexander, but Julie was very surprising, and Karen brought up all kinds of responses from me. Such a great job of Narration...Kudos for such a great performance.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Again so many moments and twists and turns, my emotions were in turmoil. LOL. Really got into this book.

Any additional comments?

Where does Lady Justice Takes a C.R.A.P. rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

On the lighter side of mysteries, it ranks right up there with the best of them.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the fact that when the bottom drops out and Jack Ballard's Realtor career goes belly up; Even though he is a little long in the tooth; Jack picks himself up by the bootstraps and embarks on a whole new career...And what a rollicking time of it he has. I love a story that will give me a good belly laugh. A fun book.

What does George Kuch bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Being a woman, having a man narrator gave it the right perspective. Mr Kuch did an excellent job. Just the right voice and just the right emphasis.

If you could rename Lady Justice Takes a C.R.A.P., what would you call it?

Wouldn't change it. Perfect name for a very funny book.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

People with a more serious mindset on story content.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

For me the most interesting thing about this book was the description.
The least interesting for me, was perhaps the narrator...Not sure, I just could not get into it.

It would peak my interest one moment, but then the flow would just stall me out. I guess (being from Louisiana) I was expecting something of a different flavor.

How could the performance have been better?

I don't really know. All I know is I could barely keep focused on the story because the reader just left me flat.

What character would you cut from Blood and Discord?

Not one...It has the potential of being a great read...Everything is there that would make it great. Just something askew. Not being an Author by any stretch; I could almost relate to the Characters. Some books are just not meant to be listened to I guess.

Any additional comments?

I have seen the other reviews, and there must be something wrong with mine because no one else has had the same experience as I did.

I am very grateful to the author for sending me this book and hate to not have enjoyed it...Sorry. You did want an honest review.

What made the experience of listening to A Haunted Murder the most enjoyable?

The easy flow. Very descriptive of landscape and interactions of family and friends...even pets.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

It was not a Psychological thriller, dark and violent, but an easy truly enjoyable mystery. I did have an idea of who the culprit was, but I was wrong... Loved it!

Which scene was your favorite?

Too many to mention. The whole story kept my interest and even though it was a mystery: It is also a feel good story with very likeable characters. Well most of them. Cannot like the culprits, But even they were believable. Not a lot of blood and gore type of book.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

At the very end, but cannot give anything away. SMILE.

Any additional comments?

Yes...I will be looking for book 2 A Haunted Disappearance. Can't wait for it to come out in Audio.

Would you listen to White Is the Coldest Colour again? Why?

Yes. If only to be reminded that, even though this is a fictional book. It is based on real life experience. Evil does truly exist. As I sit here just finished with this book...I am so very grateful for a childhood that was so far removed from this reality that it is shocking to realize that this does occur.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I think that Molly Mailer was my favorite character because she is a strong woman. With the strength to face life full on, regardless of many adversities. And she is a loving mother, and very level headed person. It is hard to choose a favorite character because they are all so real...Just jump out of the story at you. So well written that I was on the edge of my seat for most of it...Literally.

Which character – as performed by Jake Urry – was your favorite?

Dr David Galbraith was my favorite character performance. Chilling! Very sick and evil man. Someone I loved to hate. This book brought out such strong emotions in me that I could not believe it...But I do love Psychological Thrillers. This book went one step farther for me.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes! There were many instances of high emotion while listening to this book, but I think when Cynthia (Dr Galbraith's wife) finally got up the nerve to actually standup for Anthony Mailer, and against Dr. Gailbraith, thereby saving Anthony which I had been waiting for with baited breath for half the book.

Any additional comments?

If you like Psychological Thrillers...This is a great book for you. I did not think I could listen to it at first, because abuse of children runs against the grain for me. But it was so well written, and so well performed that after just a bit...I was hooked.
