Britt-Marie can't stand mess. She eats dinner at precisely the right time and starts her day at six in the morning because only lunatics wake up later than that. And she is not passive-aggressive. Not in the least. It's just that sometimes people interpret her helpful suggestions as criticisms, which is certainly not her intention. But at 63, Britt-Marie has had enough. She finally walks out on her loveless 40-year marriage and finds a job in the only place she can: Borg, a small, derelict town devastated by the financial crisis.

I couldn't stop listening! This is wonderful story of finding your place in the world. Britt-Marie is broken but she stumbles into a little town of misfit people who accept and heal her. Each of us need to be healed at least once in a lifetime. hopefully we can each heal someone else who is in need.

When Mustang Ridges receives a severed penis in the mail, she knows it's going to be a bad day. She's sure there's a body to go along with the penis, but she can't find it. While on the hunt for the owner of the penis, she stumbles across a dead body. It's Jane Dough, a substitute teacher at Lakeside Elementary. The Lakeside Elementary PTO is on the case. It appears that Jane might have been a prostitute who supplemented her income with a little substitute teaching on the side.

Thank you Ms. Flagg for helping me remember the small town I grew up in and the colorful and wonderful people who are no longer with us.
I am 64 yrs young, but remember the stories told by my parents about our small town and what it was like to grow up in a town like Elwood Springs.
I feel like I am making new friends every time I listen to you read your wonderful books to us.
Because of your books, our children and grandchildren will learn and understand about that earlier time in our great country.
