I hated Cable James McCaffrey. He was entitled, spoiled, a user...and an addict. He was out of control and didn't bother trying to hide it. He had everything anyone could want but still seemed miserable and lost. Every move he made, every mistake he stumbled his way through, rubbed me the wrong way. However, I couldn't stop myself from trying to save him from himself when no one else would. In the sweltering heat of the summer, Cable taught me that having it all means nothing if you can't have the one thing you want more than anything else.

Jay Crownover has a way with tortured souls and does not disappoint with Cable and Affton.
This is a story of acceptance and forgiveness and not just for the love hate relationship these two are growing. Cable is on a rough journey but as dislikable as he seems in chapter one by midway you will be cheering him on to not only do right by Affton but to overcome his demons for himself.
I loved how steadfast Afftons Reed is. Her loyalty to her loves ones is strong but her loyalty to herself is even more important.
So may times young heroines are depicted as soft and easily distracted. Not Affton. She is fierce and driven.
Ms. Lucy James was a showstopper in this narration. Her southern accent was wonderful and I will be looking up her otherworks!
Lance Greenfield also did a great job, though his mature voice seemed older than Cable, he is great at his craft. I've listened to him narrate quite a few books and he never disappoints!

All is fair in love and auto maintenance.

Beau Winston is the nicest, most accommodating guy in the world. Usually.

Handsome as the devil and twice as charismatic, Beau lives a charmed life as everyone's favorite Winston Brother. But since his twin decided to leave town, and his other brother hired a stunning human-porcupine hybrid as a replacement mechanic for their auto shop, Beau Winston's charmed life has gone to hell in a handbasket.

I loved this story. Penny Reid has a way of working her beautiful words into a thoughtful educational lesson without you even realizing what is happening. I am not sure this is her aim but after every book I feel like a better, more thoughtful, individual.
The narration is superb! I have come to think Chris Brinkley as the voice of the Winstons and Angela Dawe is amazing! I am glad Mrs. Reid waited until she found the right voice for Shelly. I will be looking Ms. Dawe up and scowering her works.

I have owned the written version since the day she released and read it the moment it downloaded. I purchased the audio when it was available but did not listen. I don't know why except I maybe scared. I have since listened to it in its entirety at least twice. the last few chapters a few more than that and the last chapter I can't keep track. I love it. that chapter is poetry.
also Simone is the perfect narrator. she is Sena.

The last half of this novel is beautiful, ugly, and so real.
I think I cried the whole last hour.
My heart is actually a little broken.
I absolutely admire Colleen Hoover for putting something so real out on paper.
I think she chose a perfect time in her career to write this. Meaning that the reach she has right now will do so much good for women in this situation, honestly all women. We live in such a judgemental world and I believe this novel makes eveyone realize that we "know" nothing of someone else's situation.
Abuse is abuse is abuse is abuse..
But Love is love is love is love... and she made me feel all of it.

After just five months of dating Janie, Quinn - former Wendell and unapologetic autocrat - is ready to propose marriage. In fact he's more than ready. If it were up to Quinn, he would efficiently propose, marry, and beget Janie with child all in the same day - thereby avoiding the drama and angst that accompanies the four stages of prematrimony: engagement; meeting the parents; bachelor/bachelorette party; and overblown, superfluous wedding day traditions.

So great in audio form.
Both nararrators where awesome. Janie really came to life and Quinn, well I have one complaint for Quinn.... There was not enough chapters from his point of view! Quinns narration was awesome and for me brought a perfect reflection of how Quinn adores Janie.
If you enjoy quirky smart romances you can not go wrong with Penny Reid and all the Knitters!

This is the story of Gus losing himself, finding himself, and healing along the way. "The honest-to-God truth is I don't even know how to function anymore. Bright Side wasn't only my best friend, she was like my other half - the other half of my brain, the other half of my conscience, the other half of my sense of humor, the other half of my creativity, the other half of my heart. How do you go back to doing what you did before when half of you is gone forever?"

I read Bright Side when it was first released and my heart was ripped out and torn to shreds. When GUS was released I just wasn't excited. For one I didn't think Gus could complete with Bright Side and second if he did I didn't know if my heart could take it.
I did cry and my heart hurt but in such a good way.
Congratulations to Kim Holden for an outstanding follow up novel. You did Bright Side and Guys such a beautiful justice.
I loved the nararrators and am so glad I didn't read this when it came out and waited for the audible version!
I will definantly buy anything they narrate again!
