I got this book because I wanted an american historical. The book wasn't too bad but the heroine was as dumb as a bag of rocks. She had this amazing man, his family, and their ranch hands all in love with her AND her children. I have no idea why she waited so damn long to tell Luke what her problem was. Instead she rathered put her children at risk, herself at risk and in the end Luke at risk.

I just wish the heroine was written a bit smarter. Oh and this was a clean book. Hot kisses only no second, third or home base hits.

Narrator wasn't bad at all. I'd listen to him again.

Ok you ever see those small town shows where everyone knows everyone and there is a cast of quirky characters? yeah that's this book. I was hella entertained. I was utterly disappointed that the very first sex scene between the characters was behind closed doors. it totally went fade to black and they woke up the next morning. I was seriously like WTF!!!. The other sex scenes were glossed over as if the author wasn't comfortable writing them. If you don't like or aren't good at writing sex scenes DON'T TRY TO DO IT!! I would have preferred them not be in there than have them done poorly.

On a better note, if i could live in this town i totally would....lol.

Story. 2.5 (not a solid 3 because of the piss poor sex scenes)

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS!!

Part 1
Yeah i'm a sucker for a dirty talker. So far Keely isn't too stupid. Vaughn is very much an alpha dom dirty talker but his single minded focus on sex is kinda off putting and the fact that Keely eats that up is a touch wtf. I get that she's a sex deprived almost virgin, but c'mon. a total stranger tells you he wants to do you and you give a few weak no no nos and then the next thing we know you are giving him a handjob in the bathroom at a museum. There were things that happened that seemed off and only added in because the author thought it would be cool for them to have sex there. (the museum bathroom, the law library, etc...) I hope their relationship evolves to include other dimensions other than dirty kinky sex.

Part 2

So it looks like Vaughn is still obsessed with nothing but sex. Keely is just stupid. So..... this part had some revelations. (spoiler removed) There still isn't anything between Keely and Vaughn but blind lust and a mega-crap-ton of 3rd base sex. Based on what we are told in the story, she has no idea what his full name is, no idea how old he is, no idea what he does for a living, and no idea he does nothing but think about his cock in her mouth. Oh and how bad he wants to make her come her brains out. I'm SOOOOOOO sick of that phrase. The cliffy ending played out like a very bad soap opera. Oh yeah I'm in for some long haul fuckery with this one. On to part 3...

Part 3

SEVEN MINUTES INTO PART 3 and we already get hit with "come your brains out". STAAAAPPPPPP!!!!!! Ok Vaughn's dialogue is 90% sex talk 95% of his inner monologue is thinking about sex. I swear I don't think they've had an actual conversation.

Ok I rarely ever say this and I know this is erotica but . There IS a such thing as too much sex in a book. It annoys me to no end that Keely won't say no to him and lets him do her anywhere at anytime.

Brent?? Oh he's a grade a douche.

Part 4
Ok it only took three chapters and 9 minutes for Keely to "come her brains out". I almost wanna go back to the first two parts to see where it first showed up but ya'know I'm not that masochistic. But we do have another phrase in the mix. Vaughn has described Keely as "magical" on a few occasions. her snatch is magical, she is magical, her body is magical. blah blah blah, i'm waiting for him to notice the golden fairy dust spilling out of her as she walks down the street. He is also going off the reservation by the constant comparisons to her peachy globes or her peach shaped butt. In this part we see a whole new Keely. She is a corporate powerhouse and a sexual equal to Vaughn. It would have been nice to see the transition. it's like who is this person. Vaughn is still all about sex and his 9 inch "member". It's true, he doesn't let us forget how wet and tight Keely's snatch is or how big his junk is. MULTIPLE TIMES. And seriously these two are nymphos. They are reckless with it at times. oh and Vaughn is a special kind of dude. I think he likes the taste of his jizz as much as Keely does.

The mystery is actually pretty interesting but the story would be so much better if the characters actually had conversation not pertaining to sex or the ashcroft issue. So over this book. At this point i just wanna know what happens with the company and with brent. for such a high profile ceo she and vaughn are boning their way across manhattan. #OverIt

45mins left...........

DONE!!!

OK so we found out what happened and and everyone lived happily ever after. If I got this book one at a time I would be PISSED. The cliffhangers weren't really needed. The book was a full book just chopped into novellas. Not my job to advise authors how to make their money and build their base but if you are gonna do this novel chop bullshit then you need to make sure your story is ROCK SOLID. I think this author has potential to be a fantastic writer but she's just not there yet. The characters were all 1 dimensional. They all were what you thought they were at their first impression. None of the characters grew and most were either unlikeable or just meh.

Story - 2 it was ok, just ok. could have been better, the freaky nympho bunny sex actually killed the book because there was something sexual happening in damn near every chapter or every other chapter. way too much and i ended up ignoring most of it. even the built up anal scene was a flop by the time it happened.

Narrators - the narrators were ok. There were times when they were over the top and times where they were perfect. I think they will be really good if given enough practice and some good material. The guy's voice could have been a bit deeper, but that's just my preference. At first i wanted to hear Sebastian York, but even with his dreamy voice i'd get sick of all the gratuitous sex.

We waited what felt like FOREVER to get the rest of this story and it was seriously so meh i can't even force myself to shrug. Anna was a total basket case. one minute she's telling X she's there for him and they can work through whatever and the next moment she needs space. this went on for a good chunk of the book and got very tiresome with the back and forth. by the end of the book i was just happy it was over.

Hunter Fielding has long since proven himself to be one of the best goaltenders in the NHL. The problem? His former team had another (slightly better) backstop. They left Hunter out to dry, the upstart Tulsa Thunderbirds claimed him in the expansion draft, and he made a few stupid comments about backasswards Oklahomans. Now the T-Birds say the only way he can redeem himself is to make nice for the media with some local goody two shoes who's made some mistakes of her own.

I actually really liked this book. I loved the way Tallie and Hunter were forced together and made the best of the situation. I like that they didn't beat around the bush with their feelings. The story had just enough drama but not overly done to annoyance. I would definitely listen to the next book in the series.

Story - 3.5
narrator - 2.75

The narrator was good and still had some improvements to work on. for most of the hockey guys he had them sounding like they were super hyped up. and when there should have been a period pause his voice tones made it sound like there was more so his inflections weren't always good. Sometimes Tally sounded like she was from Boston instead of the south, same or Huntery, boston instead of from Canada. But i'd totally give him another chance, i've heard much much worse.

I hate virgin turned freak stories and Mia was a total innocent 22yr old virgin with damn near zero experience and she turns into a sex goddess along the way. The plot was interesting and I think the desire to know what happens is what pulled me through this book. I hate stories that have no consequences for the bad guys. *****spoilers removed but can be seen on my goodreads review*****

I don't get too many cowboy books but I had to jump on this when it came to my attention. It was a short steamy read and I really enjoyed it. Kennedy (h) was down on her luck. She had to quit her job to care for her dying dad. Luke (H) is a rodeo cowboy who has a dirty mouth and a heart of gold. His alpha possessive streak was pretty damn sexy too. The two are childhood friends who come together again after the death of Kennedy's dad. She needs his help because she literally has nowhere to go and no money to get there. I liked that the two were pretty honest with each other and didn't play games. I do wish that the ending wasn't so abrupt. It's not a cliffhanger, but it would have been nice to get a glimpse of the happy couple a few months or years down the line. So the story was tied up but just not in a pretty bow. Make sense?
