These soon to be classic HP books unbelievably gain merit by the narration of Stephen Fry. In my opinion no other narrator brings Harry Potter, his friends, family and teachers so wonderfully, magically to life as Stephen. I've listened to these books countless times already and they stay alive and fresh! Ten stars, out of five!

This review covers both books, How To Bang snd How To Blow. Alexis Hall is for me the writer of literary gay romance with a touch of BDSM. Their books are so witty, funny, even lyrical sometimes and very intelligent. I think they must have a very keen insight in the human psyche. I equally love the characters of Arden, with his snarky, witty vulnerability and Caspian, with his adoration, his closed-off-ness and his own particular brand of vulnerability. Joel Leslie is for me the ONLY narrator who could ever do them justice. He is brilliant in his depection of these two lovely, funny, lonely, loving and hurting men. I can't wait for the third book, arriving in September 2019.

Up until Travis arrived on his doorstep, Charlie had lived a very solitary life. He had surrounded himself with isolation; a couple million acres of red dirt, scorching sun, and loneliness. Six months on, winter has settled over the desert, and Charlie has the life he never dreamed possible. But living and working together, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for six months straight starts to take its toll....

I love Australia, been there often. These are beautiful, real stories about life in the red heart of Australia, seen through the eyes of Charlie Sutton, a gay station owner, who is working really hard on his relationship with his American boyfriend Travis. The characters are life-size and beautifully built up and Joel Leslie adds that certain magic with his Aussie accent, giving every character an extra dimension. N.R. Walker has become a "buy them blind" author for me.

After a childhood of abandonment, Matt Argento never imagined someone might love him - much less someone like Rhys Nyland, who has the voice of an angel, the looks of a god, and the worship of his fans. Matt and Rhys come from different worlds, but when they meet, their chemistry is incendiary. Suddenly, Matt finds himself living a life he never thought possible: safe and secure in the arms of a man who feels like home. But when Rhys leaves to go on tour for his new album, Matt finds himself haunted by the ghosts of his past.

So he gives up Hollywood for northern Idaho, far away from the press, the drama of LA, and the best friend he's secretly been in love with for years. Snuggle down near the fire and lose yourself in this beautifully written fairy tale about the young man Ben who has been trapped inside a snow globe for 150 years and how Jason finds him. I've enjoyed this story tremendously, despite the somewhat flat narration. I will return to this story over and over again, like one of these books on your bookshelves that accompany you through life.

Ash Winters is barely holding on, near drowning in his own darkness and fear. He lives a gray shadow of a life, sullen and cynical, unable to remember hope or happiness - much less the distant, fading glitterball of love. It has to be a sick joke of the universe that he finds himself hooked up with good-humored Essex boy Darian Taylor, a wannabe model in a sparkly jacket and a fake tan. Darian may not be an intellectual giant, but he's hysterically funny, and he's got the courage to challenge Ash to live again.

What can I say? This is the third book in the Spires series I've listened. I haven't been moved like this by any books in a long time. Darian Taylor is such a warm, honest, compassionate character and Nicholas Boulton brings him to life perfectly. This beautiful love story of Ash Winters and Darian leaves many of the gay romances in the dust. Poetic, atmospheric, realistic and quite, quite moving. Don't let it pass you by.

Laurence Dalziel is worn down and washed up, and for him, the BDSM scene is all played out. Six years on from his last relationship, he's pushing 40 and tired of going through the motions of submission. Then he meets Toby Finch. Nineteen years old. Fearless, fierce, and vulnerable. Everything Laurie can't remember being. Toby doesn't know who he wants to be or what he wants to do. But he knows, with all the certainty of youth, that he wants Laurie. He wants him on his knees.

But preferably listen. I don't know the original audible narrator, but Paul Berton and John Hartley do a magnificent job with this book. Laurie and Toby come to life in the best possible way.

This is the most moving, choking-up, funny, real, kink-sex love story I've ever read or listened to. And that's saying something for someone who for decades thought she wans't into kinky sex. But then it's so much more than that. It's about growth, building bridges, being true to oneself, being true to one another, I have almost listened to it in one go.

I won't put anything in here that could be a spoiler. Just take the book and read it. And listen. it's staggeringly beautiful.

From book one through book five I've enjoyed my socks off listening (and reading) about the adventures of Logan and Tate. It's sizzling hot, and at the same time completely believeable. The characters seem like family and I've totally fallen in love with these two guys.

At the same time I would love to read about what happens with Robbie and Priestley, but I really really hope Logan and Tate won't take a place on the back burner in that one. I would love for Robbie to find his forever man and I have just a feeling he and Priestley will fight their way towards each other.

Bring it on Ella, I'm following you on Amazon and can't wait for your new releases!

Colisteners and -readers: believe me, you won't regret for a second reading and listening about these men!

Last but not least (at all): Shannon Gunn reads these books perfectly and really gives a new dimension to the tale.
