Around midnight, under a lonely streetlamp in a provincial town in Japan, lies a white woman, a blonde, alone, robbed of all four limbs yet undead. Indeed, a rumor's been circulating among the local girls that a vampire has come to their backwater, of all places. Koyomi Araragi, who prefers to avoid having friends because they'd lower his "intensity as a human", is naturally skeptical.

This audio book, from the translation that conveys the tone of the original work, to the clever plotline, to the three voice actors' performances, is an amazing work. The occasional background music was also a nice bonus; I've only ever heard one other audio book that did that. I look forward to more translations of this series being brought over to audio book and hope more Japanese anime-inspiring novels and light novels make it to audio book, particularly if they are of this level of quality.
