Alive and hiding in South America, the fiendish Nazi Dr. Josef Mengele gathers a group of former colleagues for a horrifying project. Barry Koehler, a young investigative journalist, gets wind of the scheme and informs famed Nazi hunter Yakov Liebermann, but before he can relay the evidence, Koehler is killed. Thus Ira Levin opens one of the strangest and most masterful novels of his career. Why has Mengele marked a number of harmless aging men for murder? What is the hidden link that binds them?

This book was amazing. I thought maybe it would be too "dated". But it wasn't. Very well done. To read about Mengele and "what if". This book kept my attention from beginning to very end. the narrator did an excellent job of bringing these characters to life.

Joe Kenda investigated 387 murder cases during his 23 years with the Colorado Springs Police Department and solved almost all of them. And he is ready to detail the cases that are too gruesome to air on television, cases that still haunt him, and the few cases where the killer got away. These cases are horrifyingly real, and the detail is so mesmerizing you won't be able to turn it off.

Do not buy the Joe Kenda book. I did not even finish it. I was hoping it would talk about a few of his best murder cases. But it just reviewed a bunch a cases he had...some child abuse, some murder cases. He discusses each case for a minute or two. I was very disappointed.

The chapters are divided up in episodes. Chapter one = episode one. And so on. This audiobook is different--it is like hearing a crime documentary with interviews. It is unique because the character that was accused of murder is not all that likable. And as the story unfolds it appears that he had been falsely accused. But all the facts and interviews throughout paint an ambiguous picture of him...is he really innocent?

One of the comedy world's fastest-rising stars tells his wild coming of age story during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa and the tumultuous days of freedom that followed. Noah provides something deeper than traditional memoirists: powerfully funny observations about how farcical political and social systems play out in our lives.
