It's one of the galaxy's most dangerous secrets: a mysterious transmitter with unknown power and a reward for its discovery that most could only dream of claiming. But those who fly the Millennium Falcon throughout its infamous history aren't your average scoundrels. Not once, but twice, the crew of the Falcon tries to claim the elusive prize - first, Lando Calrissian and the droid L3-37 at the dawn of an ambitious career, and later, a young and hungry Han Solo with the help of his copilot, Chewbacca.

Fantastic book. Daniel Jose Older really sets up a great Star Wars novel in anticipation of the new film Solo: A Star Wars Story. He does a great job of fleshing out some of the characters that are featured in the new film, in addition to several new characters that form Han/Lando's crew for hire. Marc Thompson easily solidified himself as my all time favorite Star Wars audible book narrator. His performance is outstanding! Especially his Han and Lando impressions. The only thing that I had even slightest issue with is when the audiobook switches narrator's between the three timelines. Just let Marc do his thing! Perfect companion piece to the new film.

It’s hard for me to rate a Star Wars book under 3 stars, but I should have. The story was very difficult to engage in. This audible book took me longer than any other to complete. I seriously had to force myself to finish it. Characters were impossible to invest in. On the bright side, I am a fan of Jonathan Davis. I will not be giving this book another listen. ☹️

Forever grateful for the reintroduction of Thrawn into the canon universe. Marc Thompson delivers a great performance. The best parts of this novel are Thrawn’s observations of supporting character’s body language, making his character a cold and calculating member of the empire.

This novel should be titled “Ryloth Freedom Movement”. Vader and the Emperor are used as the supporting cast. The story revolves around Cham Syndulla and his band of freedom fighters. Not the lords of the Sith as the title suggests. Jonathan Davis is the best part, as he always delivers a 5 Star performance. As the last line in the novel (spoken by Palpatine) suggests, “It’s time to move on to more important matters.” Definitely not my favorite Star Wars novel.

This story is great and truly felt like a story arc from The Clone Wars tv show. As it should. The relationship between Voss and Asajj was a great story to be told. The best part is the performance. The narrator has a great talent for capturing each character. Specifically the parts of the novel including Obi Wan. Fantastic !

Too bad Disney has listed this story under the “Legends” handle. It provides much back story into the events leading up to Phantom Menace. One of my all time favorite Star Wars stories. I’m really hoping that TLJ will reveal Snoke as Darth Plagueis and bring this story back into canon.
