The Hemorrhage Virus tore through America and swept the globe, leaving no country untouched. New Zealand was no exception. Those infected mutated into monsters, monsters that became known as Variants. Seven weeks have passed since Jack and Dee's quiet world shattered. Along with a small band of survivors, they fled to Mayor Island. Determined to help stem the Variant scourge, they volunteer for what remains of the army. Led by Captain Ben Johns, a grizzly retired NZ SAS soldier, they are sent on a dangerous mission to rescue a scientist.

Loved this book. The characters are so real including the character of New Zealand itself! Adrian paints New Zealand in such a way that it has a life of its own, it’s culture and it’s people come alive in his writing. For that alone this book is well worth reading, add in the fast paced thrilling storyline and it’s a definite must read!

Seven months after the Hemorrhage virus swept across the world, Jack, his wife, Dee, his friend Boss, and the Renegades, a ragtag collection of civilian and military personnel, have been sent on two missions. Jack likes the first: recon. The second is insane: reenter the laboratory they barely escaped from a few months back and retrieve a logbook, a logbook that could provide the cure to end the madness.

I love how this plays out, quite an epic conclusion. Not everyone that I wanted to survived, but over all I was very pleased with how this plays out. Adrian Smith once again does an amazing job again playing in Nicholas Sansbury Smith’s world.

The variants are hungry as the population decreases and they are closing in on the remaining human sanctuary. Can humanity hope to survive against monsters straight out of their own worst nightmares? As the battle rages brave men and women fight, standing strong in the hopes of a variant free future.

I absolutely love this book for many reasons.

First off I found this book from from the main series it came from: Extinction Cycle by Nicholas Sansbury Smith. I am a huge fan and while I loved the end, it left me wanting even more it was just that good. So I read the kindle worlds books. Loved the different authors peeks into that apocalypse, then came Rule of Three.

This is a huge peek into what the every man went through. No soldiers and scientists, just regular people using their every day abilities fighting nightmares they have no idea about. Where did they come from, how do you fight them how do you fight to survive them? Can you?

The Rule of Three has Jack and Dee. They aren’t fighters, they aren’t soldiers or police. They are regular people using what they have trying to survive and reunite. Making choices I’d never want to face and experiencing things that would make most want to give up, but neither one ever does. You can feel how much they love each other and are routing for them to survive even as you doubt they have any chance of seeing each other ever again.

Taking place in a different part of the world from the original works so well for this book as well. There is so much familiar yet so much different that it just feels right. New Zealand is a beautiful place and hearing about it, even in this context made me personally very happy.

This is a well written adventure from someone who obviously understands, loves and respects the world it was written in. I didn’t find discrepancies that pulled me out of it or any writing that was disruptive to the flow of the book. It was a smooth, engaging, intense and scary ride that will leave you longing for book 2! Luckily you don’t have to wait!

The Baxter family once ran airboat tours in the Florida Everglades; life was simple and good. Everything changed with the black rain. It tainted the Earth, setting in motion a true zombie apocalypse. Most dogs died after the pitch fell from the sky. So did the alligators and crocodiles, but the ancient reptiles did not rest for long. Instead, they awoke hungry, falling in to feed beside the hordes of reanimated humanity.

Then I found out that while the main story ended there were still these, stories within that world told by other talented authors that only expanded the world into something even better! Whether you are already a fan or just interested in this world these tales are sure to entertain. Can’t wait till more stories come out! Bronson Pinchot gives another great narration here.

Story: I read this when it was originally out in Kindle Worlds and loved it. I was bummed when Amazon stopped Kindle Words honestly. I can say that it actually ended up benefiting me as a reader since Nicholas Samsbury Smith and Tom Abrahams co-wrote a great story that has only improved with the new information added for the re-release.

Narration: Bronson Pinchot’s narration only adds to the experience of this book helping to bring the characters to life. He does a great job as always.

Whether you have read the original before or not it’s a must read to get this. The fast paced story along with the extra in this version ensures you won’t regret it!

I could have impressed him, if not for last month's unforgettable one-night stand. I left it with more than orgasms and a pleasant memory - namely, his wallet. Heir to a stack of medical bills and a tattered couch.

There's tons of action, scary as hell infected humans and a cure... kinda. At the start of the story Dr. Kate Lovato was told by her boss that sometimes you have to create a monster to destroy one. Right there is a scary thought. Much like this book. It’s also a driving theme in the story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. What will we have to do to have a chance to survive, to escape from the Extinction Cycle that has just begun!
