On the edge of the galaxy, a diplomatic mission to an alien planet takes a turn when the Legionnaires, an elite special fighting force, find themselves ambushed and stranded behind enemy lines. They struggle to survive under siege, waiting on a rescue that might never come. In the seedy starport of Ackabar, a young girl searches the crime-ridden gutters to avenge her father's murder; not far away, a double-dealing legionniare-turned-smuggler hunts an epic payday; and somewhere along the outer galaxy, a mysterious bounter hunter lies in wait.

In space! Lots of space marine stuff with little character development. This was really two separate books, and a set up for sequels. I just don't care enough about the characters or story to find out what happens next.

Brilliant narration.

X and others are assaulted by monsters. Through determination and commitment, they win! Over and over again. Oh the Triumph of the Human Spirit! Good guys win, bad guys get what they deserve. Like Disney.

Fabulous narration made the book palatable while driving. If I were reading it, I'd skip most of the middle of the book.

China's two greatest philosophers, Confucius and Lao Tzu, were intensely interested in how we should live and how a good society is governed. The central concepts of Confucianism are li, the proper ordering of society through rituals and ceremonies, and zhen, the proper ordering of the self through humaneness, benevolence, and love. Daoism, taught under such masters as Lao Tzu and Zhuangzi, meditates on the interdependence of opposites and teaches the path of non-resistance.

Would you try another book from Nicholas Sansbury Smith and/or R. C. Bray?

yes

If you’ve listened to books by Nicholas Sansbury Smith before, how does this one compare?

same

What does R. C. Bray bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

no idea

Did Hell Divers II: Ghosts inspire you to do anything?

no

Any additional comments?

First: allow us to write real reviews without these prompts.

Second: The story focused too much on fighting and monster gore. Yes, the monsters are monster-like, they ooze this and that. Tenacious, scary. Got that. Eventually, I began skipping the details to get to the next part when I could learn something about the characters other than their prowess in a fight.Hoping the next book has more plot and character development...

Simpler government arrived four years ago. It helped put money in your pocket. It saved hours of your time. It improved your children's diet, lengthened your life span, and benefited businesses large and small. It did so by issuing fewer regulations, by insisting on smarter regulations, and by eliminating or improving old regulations. Cass R. Sunstein, as administrator of the most powerful White House office you never heard of, oversaw it and explains how it works, why government will never be the same again (thank goodness), and what must happen in the future. Cutting-edge research in behavioral economics has influenced business and politics.
