Since the Others allied themselves with the cassandra sangue, the fragile yet powerful human blood prophets who were being exploited by their own kind, the delicate dynamic between humans and Others changed. Some, like Simon Wolfgard, wolf shifter and leader of the Lakeside Courtyard, and blood prophet Meg Corbyn see the new, closer companionship as beneficial - both personally and practically.

These characters are three dimensional they're so real. All the elements are there politics (vamp), family, past, present, future, love, hate, hope and magic. You want to get to the end, yet you fear that you're near the end. Jane is amazing, her story is fascinating and her life is not for the weak.

Unique characters and storyline. It sucked me right in and I bought every book in the series. Heroine is a long suffering, hard driving woman. She wants the best for others. The other characters are a variety of good, bad and infuriating. You never know where you might end up. Hard to put down.
