Parenting advice isn't hard to find. There are thousands of books on the subject, as well as a multitude of websites. Much has also been written on the science of child development. What's been lacking, however, are sources of reliable advice that bring together the scientific research and its real-world applications.

Both my husband and I loved this book. We're currently pregnant with our first child and are completely clueless to how child psychology works- so we've been doing a lot of reading and asking a lot of questions. Of the books we've read, this one has been the most informative and scientifically backed. I highly recommend this to anyone with kids of any age.

They were just kids when they stumbled upon the horror of their hometown. Now, as adults, none of them can withstand the force that has drawn them all back to Derry, Maine, to face the nightmare without end, and the evil without a name.

Everything about this was pure gold. The book (like everyone says) is just ridiculously better than the movie- and I wasn't sure at first that Steven Weber could pull a more powerful performance than Tim Curry, but - just wow. His performance as IT gave me nightmares- and was still completely convincing as every other character. Just- amazing. Five Stars All Around.

Sy Montgomery's popular 2011 Orion magazine piece, "Deep Intellect", about her friendship with a sensitive, sweet-natured octopus named Athena and the grief she felt at her death, went viral, indicating the widespread fascination with these mysterious, almost alien-like creatures. Since then Sy has practiced true immersion journalism, from New England aquarium tanks to the reefs of French Polynesia and the Gulf of Mexico, pursuing these wild, solitary shape-shifters.

This story is beautiful and well written, with interesting insight into the personalities of octopuses. Throughout the narration, I find myself longing to switch places with the author, so that I may experience the things written if first hand.

As historian Mark Essig reveals in Lesser Beasts, swine have such a bad reputation for precisely the same reasons they are so valuable as a source of food: they are intelligent, self-sufficient, and omnivorous. What's more, he argues, we ignore our historic partnership with these astonishing animals at our peril.

It is well researched, well written, and well performed. 5 Stars all around - and will highly recommend to everyone I know.

I love pigs, as they're interesting and intelligent animals. This book taught me things that I hadn't already picked up from the internet. It gets... difficult to hear at times, as some things in life aren't all butterflies and unicorns, but still well worth the knowledge.

Imajica is an epic beyond compare: vast in conception, obsessively detailed in execution, and apocalyptic in its resolution. At its heart lies the sensualist and master art forger Gentle, whose life unravels when he encounters Judith Odell, whose power to influence the destinies of men is vaster than she knows, and Pie "oh" pah, an alien assassin who comes from a hidden dimension.

It was daunting at first, being over 37 hours of listening, but I quickly became immersed in the world and the lore. The tale is an epic - sans the poetical layout, the stars of the tale complex and yet well described, and the whole of the story comes full circle for an ending that coaxes out the good tears. The narrator was as wonderful; using as many diverse accents and tones as the narrative possessed. Before I was 15 hours in, I had already insisted that all of my friends read this, as I will now suggest to anyone who happens upon this review.
