This was a really good book. It held me captivated throughout. I particularly liked the fact that the author didn't feel the need to focus on the romance to sell the story. This made the tale more believable.

Megan Hamilton never really liked Elliot Bailey. He turned his back on her family when they needed him the most and it almost tore them all apart. So she’s shocked when Elliot arrives at her family’s inn, needing a place to stay and asking questions that dredge up the past. Megan will rent him a cottage, but that’s where it ends - no matter how gorgeous Elliot has become. Coming back home to Haven Point was the last thing best-selling writer Elliot Bailey thought he’d ever do.

Wow! What a good story. Grace has been victimized by her parents from hell. It took some time before she stiffened her spine to address this situation. I also liked this story because it reminded me that men are also abused by spouses and girlfriends. This was a refreshing and innovative romance novel.

On a chilly February night, during a screening of Psycho in midtown, someone sunk an ice pick into the back of Chanel Rylan's neck, then disappeared quietly into the crowds of drunks and tourists in Times Square. To Chanel's best friend, who had just slipped out of the theater for a moment to take a call, it felt as unreal as the ancient black-and-white movie up on the screen. But Chanel's blood ran red, and her death was anything but fictional.
