For anyone who has lost a career because of chronic pain.... For anyone who has ever felt devastated, confused, or less-than because your health prevents you from working a formal job.... For anyone who have ever said to God, "This doesn't make sense. Wouldn't I be more useful to you if I were healthy?" This book is for you.

Esther Smith hits a grand slam home run with this book. Her description of the effects of chronic pain describes accurately the mental, physical and emotional toll of unrelenting torturous pain. As a fellow sufferer, she understands daily defeats and sparse victories. Most of all, she shared the agony of feeling worthless when you can’t do what you did disappointing yourself and others. However the best part of the book is when she gives sound spiritual advice for valuing yourself when you can only be a beloved child of God. I also found her advice very helpful for rebuilding some things you can do. Sarah Carleton excellently narrates in a kind, clear voice. Thanks for this beautiful, compassionate book!

It took one hell of an effort for the authorities to finally get the jump on master manipulator Bianca St. Ives, but now that they have, it’s far from the capture she expected. Instead of taking her in, there’s an offer on the table, a one-shot deal that would allow Bianca to walk away scot-free as if they’d never found her. And all she has to do is run one last mission - the kind she might never return from. But if Bianca wants to go back to her normal life in Savannah, it’s not like she has a choice.

As a child, Lydia Pallas became all too familiar with uncertainty when it came to the future. Now, she's finally carved out a perfect life for herself - a life of stability and order with no changes, surprises, or chaos of any kind. She adores her apartment overlooking the bustling Boston Harbor, and her skill with languages has landed her a secure position as a translator for the U.S. Navy. However, it is her talent for translation that brings her into contact with Alexander Banebridge, or "Bane", a man who equally attracts and aggravates her.

Interesting storyline but too much repetition. I was interested in seeing how the character Bane developed after reading The Lady of Bolton Hill in which ended with an enigmatic Bane going on the run. The angst was overdone when he repeatedly said he couldn’t take Lydia with him because his life was too full of danger. This was especially irritating when he left her in harm’s way.

From 1999 to 2009, U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle recorded the most career sniper kills in United States military history. The Pentagon has officially confirmed more than 150 of Kyles kills (the previous American record was 109), but it has declined to verify the astonishing total number for this book. Iraqi insurgents feared Kyle so much they named him al-Shaitan ("the devil") and placed a bounty on his head.

Chris Kyle was the best in so many ways and this story just illustrates it so well! I’m glad he lived long enough to tell it. Knowing he survived horrific odds only to die so needlessly after the war tinges every page with ethos. May God bless Taya and their children along with the rest of our brave soldiers and their families....

Clavius had questions about pain and loss that mirror my own. The answers portrayed wisdom consistent with scripture.

"Luke Volume II", often called "The Acts of the Apostles", completes the "Pentateuch of the New Testament". The traditional title of this book is, in some respects, a misnomer: It primarily deals with the "acts" of Peter and Paul. It really should be called "The Acts of the Holy Spirit". This review will explore the continuing mysteries of Hag Shavuot in Acts 2; the surprises in the history lesson Stephen gives the Sanhedrin in Acts 7; the controversies dealt with in the Council of Jerusalem in Acts 15; and more.
