Nothing really special. A lot of common sense. Some stores are felt dated. The narrator sounds like a bot.

A Gentleman in Moscow immerses us in an elegantly drawn era with the story of Count Alexander Rostov. When, in 1922, he is deemed an unrepentant aristocrat by a Bolshevik tribunal, the count is sentenced to house arrest in the Metropol, a grand hotel across the street from the Kremlin. Rostov, an indomitable man of erudition and wit, has never worked a day in his life and must now live in an attic room while some of the most tumultuous decades in Russian history are unfolding outside the hotel's doors.

In our increasingly frantic daily lives, many people are genuinely fearful of the prospect of solitude, but time alone can be both rich and restorative, especially when travelling. Through on-the-ground reporting and recounting the experiences of artists, writers, and innovators who cherished solitude, Stephanie Rosenbloom considers how being alone as a traveler - and even in one's own city - is conducive to becoming acutely aware of the sensual details of the world - patterns, textures, colors, tastes, sounds - in ways that are difficult to do in the company of others.

I enjoy this book so much that I listened to it twice. I just came back from my solo trip to Switzerland. I had a fabulous time. I thought about the author’s experience in the book during my trip, especially when I scrolled down the alleyway in the old town of Zurich in a beautiful summer night. I immensely enjoyed my solitude and try to let it linger as long as it can. This book shows you how to live a happy and meaningful life. Appreciate it in every little way. Thank you, Stephanie.

Americans didn’t just go to the polls in 2016. They joined a movement that swept the unlikeliest of candidates, Donald Trump, into the Oval Office. Can he complete his agenda? Or will his opponents in the media, protester class, and political establishment block his efforts and choke off the movement he represents?

After appearing on The Apprentice years ago and receiving a flood of letters from young women asking for guidance, I realized the need for more female leaders to speak out publicly in order to change the way society thinks and talks about "women who work". So I created a forum to do just that. This book evolves the conversation that started on IvankaTrump.com, where so many incredible women (and men!) have shared their experiences, advice, ambitions, and passions.

In Raising Trump, Ivana Trump reflects on her extraordinary life and the raising of her three children - Donald Jr., Eric, and Ivanka - and recounts the lessons she taught her children as they were growing up. As her former husband takes his place as the 45th president of the United States, his children have also been thrust into the media spotlight - but it is Ivana who raised them and proudly instilled in them what she believes to be the most important life lessons: loyalty, honesty, integrity, and drive.

A great book and really fun to listen. I only knew about Ivana Trump from the press when growing up but had my doubt because I saw how wonderful her 3 children had become. Share her work ethic and value. She’s a true classic and intelligent beauty, a wonderful mother and great lady. Wish her and her family all the best.

On the surface, Arce's story sounds like a how-to manual for achieving the American dream: growing up in an apartment on the outskirts of San Antonio, she worked tirelessly, achieved academic excellence, and landed a coveted job on Wall Street, complete with a six-figure salary. The level of professional and financial success that she achieved was the very definition of the American dream. But in this brave new memoir, Arce digs deep to reveal the physical, financial, and emotional costs of the stunning secret.

I listened twice and cried all the way through. I had a very similar experience and truly understand what Julissa Arce had been through in her life. Julissa, Thank you for speaking up and sharing your story with the world. You have my full admiration and are truly inspirational. Let’s help those undocumented and hard working immigrants. Empower ourselves with education no matter how hard the life is.
