Langohr continues to show how prison is a microcosm of society. This book is full on intrigue like his others and will have you eagerly flipping through the pages until the end.

This book took the reader into an even deeper peek into prison politics than DOY did. It showed how prison life and the racial dynamics are like playing a real live chess game how every move u make or even words that comes out of ones mouth can land not just a person but a persons whole race in deep s*** . Langohr has situations in the book between racial groups that play out the same way politics and diplomatic relations play out between governments. As the book goes on I found myself waiting in suspense to see which side was going to attack who or who was going to make concessions for peace.Something I especially liked about the book is that Langohr doesn't appear to be biased in his accounts towards one group or another as some writers appear to be in their books rather he seems to just be telling things as they happened giving props when they were do or criticisms when they were do

To start with the woman narrating the story was horrible it ruined the whole story. Listening to the narrator read it sounded as if she was reading a bed time story to children.

A good view into the prison politics of the California prison industrial complex it's a good read but not for the faint of heart as the author keeps raw and gritty!
