I don't comprehend all the four and five stars rating here. What the hell!!! Am I reading a different story from everyone else? What kind of hero is this? He's a Class A JERK, stupid as all get out (really, I'm surprised he has survived till the old age 27 and even managed the estate), till the very end didn't believe his ex-bitch is a manipulative slut. . And the heroine, goodness, why is she still around? Why does she keep putting up with his shit? She doesn't seem stupid... her father's dead and the stupid hero can't really keep her against her will, she had so many chances to leave, why stay?!!! God, even her mom kept telling her to not fall for him and he's just not worth it, just like her dad... worse! Ugh... this is the most pathetic story I've ever read.
This isn't even angst,... this is martyr... or the most pathetic version of it... even that Walter dude is better than that Gavin puppet.

What a beautiful story to add to the series. Love how Brigham and Serena's happy story came together. It's a bittersweet ending for all of our characters here but they still have it nonetheless. The only thing I would change is Grandpa Ian.

Love Joseph and his brother's meddling ways. Sad about Richard but anyways, wonderful listen. I've read this series before and loved it. Listening to it is much better though. The character comes to life. I'm glad Crew finally got the happy ending he wants, though, Haley took forever to come around. Will be looking forward to more. I hope Ms. Cook would continue narrating this entire series. She did a great job.

Praises to KR and RB, they make a great team in making this a wonderful and touching story. I've read other angst filled books before and listened to as well but none has moved me as much as this one. Well done.

It could have been better. He forgave her to easily after all she put him through. It just felt too rushed. I didn't feel any of her feelings toward him throughout the story. I mean, I felt more of her passion for her career than their relationship. Even when she came back it seemed more like she was feeling unloved and unappreciated and she needed a boost from his view in always putting her on a pedestal because he loved her so much. I honestly felt sorry for Preston. This is a 3.5 rating.

I'm the guy you love to hate. In every story in my life, I seem to end up playing the villain - and I've got the scars to prove it. That role works fine for me, because I'm sure as hell not anyone's hero. I run my life and my empire with an iron fist - until she knocks my tightly controlled world off its axis. She's nobody's damsel in distress, but I can't help but want to save her anyway. I guess we're about to find out if there's a hero buried...beneath these scars.

I like this series and it's great Audible has it on audio. I actually listened to Marquis's story first. And I have to say his is less annoying. Nathaniel deserves someone better. The h is just scared out of her mind and so weak throughout the first 90% of the book. In the first chapter when she was out on her own before arriving at the cave, she was so confident and strong and then after the cave scene with Valentine and Dalia, she just went out of her mind. I understand what she saw was scary but goodness woman, get a grip, even after everyone explained the situation to her and she had accepted her destiny she still changed her mind in like 2 seconds flat, she still couldn't get a grip on herself. She's an orphan , shouldn't she be happy she found someone and a family at that? I'm sorry if anyone disagree, but really, I hate weak female lead. Get a backbone. How is it that she was ever an agent? I don't believe it.

Okay, so, I read the Consolation Duet before I read this and I really liked it because Natalie was so strong and Liam was a great Hero who complimented her good and bad traits quite nicely. But here, her couple doesn't even have chemistry half the time. I mean, I appreciate the realistic feel of the story and goodness it's a great story but, the heroine is so wishy washy and she started out so good in the first installment too.
Anyway, regardless, Beloved was a great start, and the Consolation Duet were wonderful too, I'd definitely give this author another try. I really hope Mark's and Ashton's stories gets a better shot.
