Banking heiress Trish and her husband, James, seem to have it all, from a lavish lifestyle to a historic mansion in the nation’s capital. The only thing that’s missing to make their family complete is a baby, so when Trish holds Anne Elise in her arms for the first time, it’s no surprise that she falls deeply in love. There’s just one problem: Trish isn’t the mother. The baby belongs to Laurel, James’s young mistress. And more than that, James and Laurel want to start a new life together - despite an ironclad prenup standing in their way.

I hated every character. It was a stupid story and the narrators voices were awful. Do Not buy this book. #depressing, #hatedeverycharacter

This book was so dark and disturbing I almost had to put it away. Then the last 3 hours gave me hope. I was ultimately glad I stuck it out but, not for the faint of heart.

Sophie Kinsella's debut is a romp through the perils of shopping and spending, spending, spending! Becky can't resist a sale, and she's only a little overdrawn on her VISA. Readers will laugh aloud at Becky's retail adventures as she finds new and creative ways to relieve her increasingly credit card debt. Emily Gray's narration bounces along with Becky and her buying whims, while delivering a humorous account of what happens when credit goes bad.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I can't think of anyone who would enjoy this book. The main character is a completely vapid, self-absorbed twenty-something with no depth. The story itself went nowhere and was a complete waste of time.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Definitely something with more depth. Anything has more depth.

Which character – as performed by Emily Gray – was your favorite?

NONE.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disgust.

Any additional comments?

Don't bother. I was looking for a fun read but those has to be one of the worst books I have ever heard/read.
