She can change from fully human in one instant to a mountain lion in the next. Everyone assumes her two-year disappearance was because she'd been kidnapped by a sexual predator that she managed to kill. She keeps her werecat nature a secret. Okay, please listen to the sample, This is how the entire book sounds. 80% of the book is listening to the narrator read to you as if you are listening to someone read a book to you. I thought surely the entire book can't sound like this. IT DOES! Its not quite 3rd person, but as close to it as you can get. Very little dialog. I listen to YA books all the time and have founds some real gems. This is not one of them. You almost want to think it was written by someone in middle school. For example. You set up a scenario were you make a deal with the FBI that you will give them information and 10 million dollars in cartel money. So the FBI says since you have given them the money as a "freebie" they will give you anything within reason. Who thinks like this? In this day in age, no one thinks like this unless you are under the age of 12 and I would say not even then. I agree with the reviewer who said it reminded them of an elementary level book. Do you remember books in elementary where the main character is the biggest, the best, the smartest, the prettiest, person in all the world? Well that is Missy. Absolutely no character development for anyone else in the book.

The narrator........I am just confused. What is with all of the voices sounding like a twang and sing song?

I am just so confused.

This was definitely not worth my credit.

There were a couple of things that got on my nerves with this book. First, I don't like weak heroines. The author made this girl seem about 10 years old instead of 16 or 17 years old. Now it could be the narrator's voice for Shelby, it was very irritating as if she equated young with dumb. And oh my goodness the Cussing best friend was way too over the top, which scraped my nerves. I got past all that, and then we got to the battle. The battle was stupid, or maybe what was stupid was all the dialogue and internal angst between every punch! Good Lord!!! Why make your heroine, so stupid! Young does not equal stupid. smh

Mackenzie 'Mac' Wharton had agreed to guide a group that had wanted an adventure on her mountain. They got more than they bargained for when they were all abducted by a group of aliens called the Ganglians. Badly beaten and barely alive, Mac finds herself in the arms of the largest male she's ever seen. She should fear him, should be fighting to get away from him, but there was something about the massive male that called to her.

The book was interesting, but I have to say that Mac was a hypocrite. She wanted everyone to be 100 percent truthful with her, but she lied about Jen for the entire book. And also she was a bi$#h throughout most of the book. So, I guess if I feel this irritated with Mac, the book must be written well enough to illicit these feelings.

When people started getting sick, they thought it was just the flu. My roommate, my boyfriend, my family ...they're all gone now. I got sick too. I should have died with them-with the rest of the world-but I didn't. I thought witnessing the human population almost disappear off the face of the earth was the craziest thing I'd ever experience. I was so wrong. My name is Dani O'Connor, I'm twenty-six-years-old, and I survived the ending.

The plot was interesting and narrator was excellent, but I felt like half of the book was a lecture! If you compile all of the actual conversations, it would all fit into one chapter. This may be because of the world building that occures at the beginning of a series, am not sure. I am hoping that the next book has more actual dialog. So overall I'm willing to spend another credit on the 2nd book.

Really? You already know who the characters are, so no need to go back over that.....But really?......I DO NOT LIKE wimpy women! Raven started off with a decent backbone and then it turned into a freakin noodle! I agree with one of the other reviewers...Jonah did turn on a dime, from man whore to a very caring hero. I am okay with that. I think Blake and the other secondary characters are good. I really liked Blake. But the finally battle!!!!! Just NO! Spoiler alert: So dear old Daddy tells me he wants me to carry on the family business with him being my Pimp.......soooooo, why in the hell would you ? Nope, I am just going to rely on everyone else to help me out of this situation, because really I just can't even try to do anything for myself. Why would you not carry a freaking gun, knife, taser.....how about a freaking tooth pick with a sharp edge? Nope, to freaking Stupid to Live. And then Mommy dearest steps in at the end to help out.....when she didn't do anything for the first 20 years of her life. Nope, to unbelievable! LOL So during the fight (which remember you couldn't do anything for yourself up to now) you decide Oh but no, I am not going to leave and run....I am not going to leave my man, I am going to go and save him! I am going to pick up the gun and take care of dear old dad myself......SMH

And why the hell didn't Candy get her a#$ kicked? What the heck happen to Karma?

Okay I am through ranting.....Out of all of that it was still a okay listen.

This could have been a better book for me if the Raven was less wimpy!

Decent plot, I guess. Druids, werewolves, vampires, Fae, tattoo artist and Harleys! Parts of the book were kind of corny. But I think that is more because of the narrator. It sounded like cartoon characters. If anyone has ever heard the Pikachu cartoon, then you know exactly how the characters sound. (unfortunately, I am very familiar with how Pikachu sounds, because my children have tortured me on a daily bases for years with this cartoon!) The different voices and ranges are good, but most of the female voices sounded like peppy little pikachu characters hyped on an energy drink. The hero and heroine have deeper voices. Thank God! I think I would have liked the book more if I had read it.

I will probably purchase other books by the author as a kindle book. So this book was still worth it because it introduced me to another writer :).

This is a great addition to the collection. I was scared for a moment about half way through the book because I thought that this was the end. But take a deep breath, stay calm, hope is alive! lol We have more additions coming up :). Or at least it’s not the end. There is no need to go into details (mainly because everyone else has already done that) this is just a wonderful story and I look forward to each and every addition. I love Kate and I love Curran. I spend all year wishing for the months to past, waiting for the new book to come out, listen to it in one to two settings and then (sigh!) starting the wait back over again. It is a fantastic world that I love visiting.

Thank you llona Andrews for sharing your world with us.
Renee Raudman thank you for making that world come alive.
The combination of IA's writing and RR's narrating is a magical experience!
