What made the experience of listening to Courage to Change the most enjoyable?

This is the third audible book I have listened to and enjoy the freedom to listen as I do tedious tasks around the house or just sitting and relaxing. The story was wonderfully written with realistic characters.

What other book might you compare Courage to Change to and why?

Elizabeth Maddrey is a great writer and her books are filled with realistic situations and true to life experiences. Her characters face conflict and many of the same situations you and I do and Maddrey handles them from a Christian perspective without being preachy or unrealistic. Her books in the Remnant series are also excellent and have many of the same characters as in this Grant Us Grace series.

Which character – as performed by Teresa Gail – was your favorite?

Teresa Gail did a good job reading this book aloud and giving voice and life to the different characters.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I enjoyed this book and the authors explanation of scripture when it came to the issue of remarriage after divorce.

Any additional comments?

This is the second in the Grant Us Grace series, following Wisdom to Know. It is not necessary to read the first book to thoroughly enjoy this book. I look forward to reading Wisdom to Know, since I enjoyed this book so much. Once you start this book you won’t want to put it down, or stop listening to the audio version.

Where does Joint Venture rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I enjoyed this book as an audio book. This is the second book I have listened to in this format and found that I enjoyed being able to go about my day’s activities while listening to a wonderful story.

What does Teresa Gail bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I didn't really like the slow, overly sweetness of her voice, and there was not much variation in the tone and depth of the voices.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. I enjoyed listening to it as I got ready for the day, ate meals, did house work etc, but was not able to sit and listen to it all at once.

Any additional comments?

The author, while writing a gentle love story, also explores some areas of conflict such as unfaithfulness, stereotyping, moral purity etc. Joint Venture is an easy read/listen and is bound to bring a smile to your face. I will look for other books in this series and books by this author. I gave this book a top rating for its heart warming story as well as its wholesome portrayal of young love.

What did you love best about A Secret Encounter?

This was my first experience with an audible book and I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. The story itself is a wonderful story of God's redemption and love. The gospel is clearly presented through the writings of J.E.B. Spredemann. It was fun to listen to the different voices used by the reader Lisa Larsen.

What other book might you compare A Secret Encounter to and why?

If you enjoy the writing style and story line of Amish books, you will enjoy this book. J.E.B. Spredemann has written other books that I've enjoyed also.

Which character – as performed by Lisa Larsen – was your favorite?

I especially enjoyed the feisty old character of Harvey, and Lisa's audio presentation/depiction of him.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Whether you read this book or listen to it being read as I did it's sure to be a hit. I look forward to reading more from this author. I highly recommend this book, even if you've never read a book about the Amish community, you'll thoroughly enjoy this one.

Any additional comments?

Thank you J.E.B. Spredemann!
