Five hundred years after Luther's now famous 95 Theses appeared, Eric Metaxas, acclaimed biographer of the best-selling Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy and Amazing Grace: William Wilberforce and the Heroic Campaign to End Slavery, paints a startling portrait of the wild figure whose adamantine faith cracked the edifice of Western Christendom and dragged medieval Europe into the future.

Once started I couldn’t stop listening.. very detailed life of Martin Luther and his teachings.. I have found myself laughing on more than few occasions of his sayings about life and have also shared few tears on the sorrows of that life.. very well and exquisitely written.. as a Christian I have always had a dark spot on my history of how it all came to be.. and after listening to Foxes book of Martyrs, this is the next best thing.. while i do differ on some theological views mentioned in this book I however greatly appreciate the life and work of Marin Luther.. a must listen..

Bolder even than the ambitious books for which Stephen Greenblatt is already renowned, The Rise and Fall of Adam and Eve explores the enduring story of humanity's first parents. Comprising only a few ancient verses, the story of Adam and Eve has served as a mirror in which we seem to glimpse the whole long history of our fears and desires, as both a hymn to human responsibility and a dark fable about human wretchedness.

There used to be two teams in every workplace: management and labor. Now there’s a third team, the linchpins. These people invent, lead (regardless of title), connect others, make things happen, and create order out of chaos. They figure out what to do when there’s no rule book. They delight and challenge their customers and peers. They love their work, pour their best selves into it, and turn each day into a kind of art.

For nearly 40 years, Washington and much of the American public have held up disclosure and campaign finance laws as ideals and the path to cleaner and freer elections. This book will show, through firsthand accounts, how both have been hijacked by the Left as weapons against free speech and free association, becoming the most powerful tools of those intent on silencing their political opposition.

Starting from scratch, simply by picking stocks and companies for investment, Warren Buffett amassed one of the epochal fortunes of the twentieth century - an astounding net worth of $10 billion and counting. His awesome investment record has made him a cult figure popularly known for his seeming contradictions: a billionaire who has a modest lifestyle, a phenomenally successful investor who eschews the revolving-door trading of modern Wall Street, a brilliant dealmaker who cultivates a homespun aura.

Along side of few valuable lessons as to credit is better to have than debt, I have learned few things of not to do.. as to be stingy with money as he was which put a strain on his family.. as a personal opinion, what is the point in accumulation wealth for the sake of accumulating it.. as he was agnostic and spent his life obsessing over death, did he really live? And loss in a afterlife with Christ is a the ultimate loss.. what a waste of life..
