Bounty hunter Aster Night always gets her man. Except when it comes to getting a man. Thanks to a curse placed on the Chastity coven centuries ago, she can't get busy with anyone until she marries a man from the boring Koda coven. Instead, she finds a way out of the curse on her own, breaking it with such a bang that she ends up naked with one sexy as sin man and his two, oh-so-alpha clan brothers. Her love life is looking up, until she's hired to track down a serial killer preying on witches, and learns her three new boyfriends were once romantically involved with one of the victims.

Okay, I'm going to be honest here. Until I listened to NIGHT MAGIC, I wasn't so sure that reverse harem was for me. But with this group of characters and an interesting paranormal plot line, I was hooked from the first chapter.

I really like Aster. She's not only smart and sassy, she's also desperate enough to outmaneuver the chastity charm that covers all members of her coven. Because, well, she has needs just like any other woman, witch or otherwise, and nothing's going to stand in her way.

The men of the Koda coven have no such restrictions, and, man, are they not afraid to exercise their right to pleasure. Aster has no idea of the power that her spellmaking has unleashed, but Rake, Finn, and Damon are more than happy to help her out.

There are plenty of twists, turns, and suspense here, as well as a boatload of fan yourself steaminess that keep things moving along nicely. And, yes, there is a cliffhanger, but not one that requires any kicking, screaming, or flinging of reading devices. I always like to say that anticipation is half the fun of a good story, and NIGHT MAGIC does not disappoint.

Narrators Hollie Jackson and Aiden Snow do a great job of bringing these characters to life, infusing humor, heat, and life into them, and making this story even more enjoyable.

Just call me Mister O. Because your pleasure is my superpower. Making a woman feel "oh god that's good" is the name of the game, and if a man can't get the job done, he should get the hell out of the bedroom. I'm talking toe-curling, mind-blowing, sheet-grabbing ecstasy. Like I provide every time. I suppose that makes me a superhero of pleasure, and my mission is to always deliver.

"They say men have sex on the brain 99.99 percent of the time. You're not going to catch me trying to dispute that...In my case, though-and I suppose, in my defense-sex is part of my job."

Well, heck, Lauren Blakely, when your main man opens with this statement, where can things go but up? I have to admit that, having fallen so completely in love with BIG ROCK when it came out, I had high hopes for MISTER O. I mean, just the title-how could it be anything but great? Well, no surprise, Lauren has artfully delivered another wonderful friends-to-lovers story, complete with characters that I wish I could actually spend time with, sizzling chemistry, and a repeat performance by the inestimable Fido, king among cats.

Nick Hammer (yes, that's his real name, thank you very much), cartoonist extraordinaire, and best friend of Spencer Holliday of BIG ROCK fame, finds himself in a fix. See, he's ready to cross a line, that line that says that you don't mess with your best friend's sister. But Nick can't help himself, because Harper Holliday has had the starring role in Nick's late night fantasies and early morning shower time for quite a while.

"Harper Holiday. Red hair. Blue eyes. Face of a sweet, sexy angel, body of a badass, ninja-warrior princess, and a mouth adept at pitch-perfect delivery of sarcasm. I'd play Dirty Synonyms, Dirty Antoynyms...Dirty Anything with her."

Yep, Nick definitely has Harper on the brain, and when she comes to him for help in the romance department, he can't say yes quickly enough.

I have to admit to having a mad girl crush on Harper. I mean, she's a magician. Like, sleight of hand, pull Skittles out of your ear, do it for a living magician. Totally badass, indeed. The fact that she's looking for schooling in the love department just makes her more endearing.

"I want to look into someone's eyes and feel like he knows me, gets me, understands me. I want him to see my quirks and accept them, not try to change them. I want to know what that's like."

Not so much to ask for, right? And, before he knows what's hit him, Nick wants to be that guy, because, when he least expects it, this quirky, sexy, Princess of Many Faces has grabbed his heart, and he's so gone.

Lauren continues to write books that engage and delight from the first page, and there is not one of her characters that does not reside in my heart. MISTER O continues the Lauren legacy, and I could not have asked for a better follow-up book in this series. A well-deserved 5+-stars for MISTER O, and lots of left over warm fuzzies and smiles for me. Next up, WELL HUNG, where Nick's brother Wyatt gets his story, and I cannot wait. If you haven't started these books, do it now. They are not to be missed.

Jake Harlowe is a finder of purloined things, a righter of wrongs, a man on a mission, and his current mission is to figure out where the money went. Steph Anderson has spent the last year cleaning up a mess that she didn't create, and now she's ready to help her mom retrieve the money that disappeared in the wake of her messy divorce. When a chance meeting brings Jake and Steph together, convincing each other to put aside their passion and work to find the missing funds may prove more than they can handle.

"It seems you have talents that might come in handy," she admitted.
"See? I knew you could be convinced of my talents," he said, wiggling an eyebrow.
She rolled her eyes. "In this case, I was actually thinking of the other talent you mentioned. The one where you could wander around town, ask questions here and there, act like a tourist, and no one thinks anything of it. There are a few things I have in mind. But they require both of us."
He held out his arms wide. "That's what I'm talking about. So does this mean we're working together, Ariel?"
She nodded, then lowered her voice to a whispered warning. "But just work. No funny stuff."

Oh, the best laid plans, and all of that. Because, Lauren Blakely, you're not fooling any of us with this 'no funny stuff' business. Let me just put it out there, the connection between Jake and Steph is instantaneous and white-hot. Like, sizzling. And, even better, the verbal back-and-forth, as expertly narrated by the inestimable Sebastian York, is just more saucy foreplay for these two unlikely partners in crime. Or, the prevention of crime, as it were.

In my opinion, this book is a little bit of a departure for Lauren, and I have to say that I love, love, love it. The whole whodunit aspect of THE SAPPHIRE AFFAIR lends a sense of intrigue and mystery. That being said, this book is full of Lauren's trademark snappy dialogue, fan yourself sexy times, and characters that feel like friends. An easy 5+ stars for this one. I will be not-so-patiently waiting for THE SAPPHIRE HEIST, the second book in this set. Grab this book and give it a listen, guys, because August is coming fast, and you'll want to be ready; I know that I am!

Having partnered up to solve a case of diamonds gone missing, Steph Anderson and Jake Harlowe are finding that business and pleasure make wonderful bedfellows. But figuring out whodunit, along with taking the leap to trust each other completely, is proving to be a bit harder than they'd anticipated.

Like any good heist story, this second book in the Jewel series by author Lauren Blakely is chock-full of twists, turns, red herrings, and dead ends. Figuring out who the bad guys are had me working hard to assemble the clues that Lauren dropped like the veritable trail of breadcrumbs. After all, the fun is in the guessing, and she has done a great job of continuing to weave a web of intrigue, passion, and adventure.

I love the dynamic between Jake and Steph, and, although I'm not an insta-love kind of gal, giving myself over and going with the flow was easy to do because I like them so much as a couple. I could totally see them as a Bogey and Bacall or Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy kind of twosome, and I thoroughly enjoyed solving the mystery along with them. Their chemistry continues to set off fireworks, but the marriage of their minds is the real treat here. Add in the tropical paradise that I could almost see, the thrill of the hunt, and a thoroughly satisfying wrap-up, all voiced perfectly by one of my favorites, Sebastian York, and THE SAPPHIRE HEIST is 5 stars of listeninging pleasure. I highly recommend this book duo, and surely would not mind seeing more of these characters in the future.

Once upon a time there was a man, there was woman, and there were some wild speed bumps on the road to their happily-ever-after.

Wyatt Hammer, funny guy, dog lover, and owner of WH Carpentry & Construction, and Natalie, his office manager and the person that keeps all of Wyatt's ducks in a row, share lots of things. Office space, love of a good joke, love of super-spicy food...But one thing that they don't share is their feelings for each other. Because Wyatt has learned the hard way that business and pleasure don't mix. But one wild night in Vegas changes things completely, and the line between Wyatt and Natalie is looking mighty blurry...

Lauren Blakely continues to do a bang-up job with her series of romantic comedies. BIG ROCK, MISTER O, and, now, WELL HUNG, are funny, sexy, sassy romps of stories, and I am enjoying the heck out of them. I knew when Wyatt first made his appearance in MISTER O that I was going to be a fan. Twin brother of Nate 'Mister O' Hammer, Wyatt runs his remodeling business with the help of Girl Friday extraordinaire Natalie. Wyatt and Natalie have such a great rapport. They enjoy the same things, and are each other's biggest fans. What they also are is extremely attracted to one another, but a series of bad experiences with crazy exes has Wyatt more than a little hesitant to even go there with Natalie. When business takes the two to Las Vegas, though, a night of fun turns into a no-holds-barred night of passion and then some, and finding their way back to the way things were before proves harder to navigate than they'd anticipated.

Lauren doesn't hold back in the sexy times department here. I mean, hot. Fan yourself and pour a glass of lemonade hot, especially with Sebastian York voicing them. But beyond that, it's very apparent that Wyatt and Natalie genuinely like and care about each other, and this just makes their trip to HEA-land that much more heartwarming.

WELL HUNG delivers Lauren's signature friends-to-lovers story, with plenty of steamy detours and visits with characters that we've come to know and love from earlier books, and does it so wonderfully well. The usual 5+ stars for Wyatt, Natalie, and their animal sounds. And, having gotten to spend some time with Wyatt's friend Chase, I can't wait for FULL PACKAGE, because I have a feeling that Chase's and Josie's story is going one of my favorite stories yet. FYI, the books mentioned here are all standalones, but why wouldn't you want all of them? Grab them now, thank me later...

Oh, Lauren Blakely, you enchantress, you. You've teased us, you've given us hints, and, finally, here we are, the FULL PACKAGE. Chase Summers, aka Dr. McHottie, and Josie Hammer, the sweetest baker in all of the land, have made appearances in the earlier books in Lauren's romantic comedy series of books that have become some of my absolute favorites ever. We've heard tell of Chase's problem finding his own digs now that he's back stateside after serving in Doctors Without Borders. He's looked high and low, and still no joy. Living single since her roomie left to marry Josie's older brother, Wyatt, Josie's looking for a roommate that won't drive her crazy, and luck has not been on her side. But, wait, was that Fate's tinkling laughter that I heard?

"Bouncing around from place to place is wearing on me...It's like I have some sort of curse when it comes to finding a decent rental. And you have a curse when it comes to finding..."
"A decent roommate." Her voice trails off as she stares at me. Really stares. And as she seems to study me, the answer clicks. The lightbulb literally goes off at the same time for both of us.

And so it begins, or continues, really. Because, determined as they are to keep things friends only, let's just say that, where there's a spark, generally follows a flame, and in this case, the flame is hot enough to heat the entire city of Manhattan.

Like the other books in this 'series,' FULL PACKAGE is an absolute delight. Chase and Josie have serious chemistry, and what I love about this relationship is that they've known each other for quite a while. While insta-love has a time and a place (yes, yes, it really does, come on now), there is none of that here. What there is, is complete trust, shared interests, and all of the elements of a really solid friendship. These two just enjoy each other, love spending time together, and are, in fact, a great couple before they are a couple. This is not to say that there isn't plenty of heat simmering between Chase and Josie, just that that isn't all that there is, and it's endearing and refreshing, and made them one of my favorite LB couples.

"...We'll need a code word. A heads-up. I'll text you, or you'll text me with that word."
"Like aardvark? I've always thought that aardvark would be an awesome code word because it's completely obvious it's a code word."
She calls me on my bluff, narrowing her eyes as we reach the block with her building. "Aardvark it is. But what if things get awkward between us?"
"What would be awkward between us?"
"...I guess I was just thinking...if anything felt awkward between us..." She waves her hand from her to me and back.
Ohhhhhh.
I get it now.
I pretend to whisper. "You mean," I say, taking my time to drawl out each syllable, "sex-u-al ten-sion?"
Her cheeks flush. "No. I just mean awkward. I don't mean that. Just that we're a man and a woman living together. It's just smart to be prepared for any...weirdness."
"Just kidding, Josie," I say, and drape an arm around her. "Things will never be awkward between us. But if they ever get that way, just say 'Swedish Fish.' That will be our safe word."

I mean, how could you not love these two? They're just so easy together, and able to talk about anything. Anything, that is, except the elephant in the room, the one holding the sign saying 'Sexual Tension Be Here.' Because, yes, good intentions and the bro-code are all well and good, but, when it comes down to it, Love will find a way, and that She does. Soon enough, Chase and Josie are both feeling those feelings, and, next thing you know, there aren't enough fans or Swedish fish to be found.

Lauren has done her usual magical thing here, and written a book that was impossible to turn off, that had me laughing, and smiling, and fanning myself, and saying "Awww," all the marks of a fantastic listen for me, especially with the fantastic Sebastian York telling the tale. 5+ sexy roomies, all bets are off, Swedish fish filled stars for FULL PACKAGE. Do not miss this one, guys, because it's a keeper.

"Look, you've got to play to your strengths when you're negotiating. You need to know what your opponent wants. And sometimes you need to give them what they can't resist."

When Tyler Nichols ended things with Delaney Stewart all those years ago, well, he could have done it with more compassion, more regard, more finesse. But things ended badly, and now, eight years later, Delaney's pretty sure that she doesn't need any Tyler in her life. No matter that they have rapport like gangbusters, that she can't stop thinking about him, and that he still totally just gets her. Because what Delaney needs from Tyler is more than just good conversation, steamy sexy times, or a great sense of humor. Delaney needs to know that Tyler is really, really sorry for the way that he left things way back when. And when "Bungee Jump Tyler" sets his mind to something, he goes all in, so things are about to get really interesting.

When it comes to me and books, there are certain inarguable truths. One of them is that, if Lauren Blakely wrote it, I'm going to love it. Doesn't matter the sub-genre, if it's hers, I'm all in. THE HOT ONE, Lauren't latest offering in her rom-com series of books, promised to be no different, and it did not disappoint.

Tyler Nichols has been around for a while, making appearances in several of Lauren's books. I know these things about Tyler: he's persistent, he's driven, and he goes full bore to get what he wants. When what he wants is the one that he let slip away, but she's not biting, Tyler is all 'game on' mindset. Delaney, goodness knows, doesn't stand a chance.

Like all of Lauren's lady characters, I've got mad love for Delaney. She's living the life she was supposed to live, thanks in no small part to the two men in her life that disappointed her. Much better suited to life as a massage therapist than a shark in a suit, Delaney's pretty happy with the way things are. But when Tyler reenters her life, Delaney's in for the pursuit to end all pursuits, so thank goodness she's got good friends and Nirvana to keep things on an even keel.

I'm going to be honest, there isn't a book of Lauren's that isn't going to do it for me. She's hit pay dirt once again with THE HOT ONE, because it's quirky, funny, sexy, and with Zachary Webber and Andi Arndt at the narration helm, I just couldn't stop listening. No question then, that this is another 5+-star experience for me, and that I'd happily recommend it to any fan of a fantastic romantic comedy. And, hey, Lauren, about that new guy at Nichols and Nichols: I'm definitely going to need to see more of Oliver Edgecomb, just saying...

By the way, nice shout-out to Tawna Fenske, L.B. ...And, now I want a polydactyl cat... ;-)

What's the modern woman to do when she's reached a certain age, that old clock (yes, you know the one that I mean) is ticking, and there's nary a serious romantic prospect in sight? If you're Nicole Powers, you take matters into your own hands and get busy planning this baby-making thing.

I've gotten used to Lauren Blakely knocking my socks off with her romantic comedies. Each one owns me just a little bit more, and choosing favorites is like picking one child over another; you just can't do it. THE KNOCKED UP PLAN literally stole my heart and was quickly added to the list of Books That I'm Soooo Very Happy To Have Listened To.

Let's talk about Ryder Lockhart for a minute. From the very first, his wit, his charm, and his approachability made him MOYD (Man of Your Dreams) material. All of these attributes, plus the fact that the gods of genetics have amply blessed him, make him the perfect choice for Nicole's plan to enter the ranks of mommyhood, and placed him squarely near the top of my list of favorite book boyfriends ever.

"What I'm trying to say is that I want to have a baby. I've been thinking about it for a long time now, and I'm ready to become a mom. A single mom...Would you help me?"
Ryder freezes...
"I looked into adoption, and while I think it's amazing, I want to try first to have my own, so I've been looking into sperm banks."
He smiles, and that's another feature I can add to the list. The man has a great smile. It's warm and exhilarating at the same time.
"Some women are checking out Plenty of Fish. You're checking out plenty of tadpoles," he says, then makes a keep-talking gesture with his free hand.
"Let me tell you all about sperm banks."

I mean, a cup of sugar, being a plus-one at a social event, sure, but being asked to give the gift that keeps on giving, well, that's something else, and not many guys would be down for it. Ryder, though, is not most guys, and has a wonderful, if somewhat battered, heart beating beneath those cover model looks. Helping out a friend in need is something that he's happy to do. Nicole really couldn't have made a better choice, and so it begins...

In THE KNOCKED UP PLAN, Lauren Blakely, with her mystical wordsmithing, has given readers even more characters to fall in love with, a seriously lovely twist on the subject matter, and had me alternately laughing, 'awwing,' swooning, and fanning myself (because, come on, y'all, it's LB, and there will always be those moments!). Nicole and Ryder are not only cute together, they respect each other and they genuinely care about each other, and watching the changes in both of them as their relationship evolves is both heartwarming and sexy.

Lauren's books are always some of my favorites, and THE KNOCKED UP PLAN is no exception. It's riding high atop my 2017 Favorites, and the 5+ sweet, sexy, and swoony stars make it one that I'd recommend to rom-com lovers everywhere. You need to grab this one up, guys, because it goes down like the sweetest treat. Enjoy.

"As I walk along the trail, the lightening sky keeping me company, I think of Mia, and all the times we've shared. I think of our nights, our days, our moments. I've been so caught up in whether they'll become more than that, that I'm not sure I've seen them completely for what they are. My perfect days...Mia is the life I've imagined. She's the dream I want to make real."

So, Patrick Milligan. He's no stranger to fans of Lauren Blakely, having made his first appearance in JOY RIDE, as upstairs neighbor and friend of Max Summers, the very same Max Summers who's got a sister named Mia...Yes, I am totally in love with Patrick. Why? Because he knows what he wants, and he's ready to go after it, whether it's creating the life he wants, or winning the girl. There is no, erm, pussyfooting around for Patrick (yep, see what I did there?). He's had it bad for Mia from their first meeting, and is all about going all in to make sure that she knows it.

Lauren's heroines are always strong, self-sufficient women, and each of them has won me over. I adore that Mia is so down-to-earth, making her the perfect foil for Patrick. She's funny, loyal, and passionate, and her personality shines. Like the ladies in the other books in Lauren's series of romantic comedies, Mia is someone that I would love to call a friend.

And, then, Zeus. Because, this story would not be complete without Zeus the hiking wonder cat. His inner dialogue is spot on, and, seriously, who else but Lauren would have, as a main character, a cat, let alone one that hikes, rides around town in a backpack, and has his very own Instagram account? We all need a Zeus in our lives.

Lauren is one of the undisputed queens of the romantic comedy, and HARD WOOD rounds out this series of standalones perfectly (And, as an unabashed fan of epilogues, let me just say that LB never disappoints!). Although Patrick and Mia are the last in this group of friends to get their HEAs, I hope that we'll see more of everyone in future books. Add the amazing narration talents of Sebastian York, and I am one happy audiophile. 5 sexy, swoony, 'oh, my, that shower scene!' stars for Patrick, Mia, and Zeus. Download HARD WOOD and enjoy!

This is one mistake Sienna Landry can't buy her way out of. As Walker Gibson looks at her, then at the damage to his precious truck (that she may or may not have accidentally inflicted), she knows she's in trouble. It's not the busted headlight and dented grill that's sunk her though. It's the downright sinful man in front of her that's the problem. The small-town mechanic is broody. Rough. Smells like engine grease and gasoline, and Sienna isn't sure why that's so sexy, but it is. It so is.

"You belong in a place where you can plant your roots and feel safe enough to let them grow. You belong somewhere your tank is filled as much as you take from it. You belong in the little niche of the world where you can't imagine waking up anywhere different."

Sienna Landry is the rolling stone of the Landry family. All of her siblings have their roles, but she's, well, she's still trying to make her way. Finding herself in 'The Middle of Nowhere', IL, is not anything that she'd envisioned, but here she is, doing something that she loves. Life, though, is great about giving us what we least expect, and she's got quite a few things in store for Sienna. As that song, goes, 'Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes...' Enter Walker Gibson. Oh, my, indeed. He doesn't quite know what to make of Sienna, but it isn't long before she's changed his world, and vice versa.

I was thrilled when Camilla got her HEA in SWINK, and have been waiting for Sienna's chance to come along. She's always been a bit of a mystery to me, but I just fell in love with her in CRANK. She's got the strength, sass, and self-confidence that she needs to go toe-to-to with Walker, and I loved so much the way that she broke through his walls.

Adriana Locke has segued very smoothly into this series. The Gibson Boys is a completely new group of characters, but, with Sienna being a Landry, there are plenty of Landry moments, which makes it feel like a visit home. And I absolutely adored every single one of the Gibson family, including Nana, the unquestionable boss of the whole clan. Addy's got her work cut out for her with this bunch, and I cannot wait to see what she does with Lance, Machlan, and Peck (secret confession: he's my favorite, mess that he is. ♥︎).

I adore pretty much any book that Addy writes, and CRANK is no exception (see what I did there?). Listening to the Landry family series is not a must, as CRANK is a standalone, but it's nice to know the references, plus, why haven't you listened to them? Fans of family series, of privilege versus working class type themes, of several bad boys in one small town, well, put this on your TBLT (To Be Listened To), because it hits all the marks, especially with the talented Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross narrating. I can hardly wait to see what Addy does with Lance Gibson when CRAFT comes along. Until then, I'll be over here, just waiting...
