Was reluctant to buy the second book in the series- but I’m sure glad I did. All came together in this book, with surprising plot twists and a good well rounded story. And although the author laid the groundwork for book three, this book’s story concluded. Hats of to Nicol... (I hate cliffhangers)... the groundwork enticed me just enough to anticipate book 3, without the feeling of unresolved issues.
Narration was a great compliment to a good story.

Seems like the author took bits and pieces from other stories to make this one. Which would have been ok, if the pieces fit properly. Nope this book just didn't do it for me. Narration was good.

How is there not an audible production for the next book. I'm not one for cliffhangers and especially when the series is not complete!
Anyhow on to the book, story kept me intrigued To a point where I would gladly pay to listen to third book.

The narration is not horrible, I listened to it at 1.5 speed to overcome awkward pauses and slow reading.

This is my favorite paranormal romance so far. The heroin, Emmaline, starts of as a meek soul.. not knowing her place or purpose in the world. She does not 'fit' anywhere, until she meets Lachlain.
The hero Lachlain, has lived a long live searching for his mate, and he finds her in Emmaline.
Together they complete each other, heal each other, most of the time not even knowing they are doing so.
This is the journey of two people on their way to an inevitable destiny and purpose.

Robert Petkoff is an amazing narrator, he made the story come alive. And well -Scottish Lachlain...swoon, enough said.

Do not read this book if you have not read The Raven...also this is a Cliffhanger...

The story of Raven and William continuous. The whole world tries to ruin what they have found in each other, and above all this they seem to be their own worst enemies. William is set to choose between his people and Raven, among blows of deception from his own kind and an enemy moving closer threatening the existence of his people.

John Michael Morgan again did a great job on the narration.

Sylvain has a way of telling a story that will captivate and thrust you into a new world, thank you for sharing these stories with us.

I am not usually a fan of fantasy romance novels, but I had to give this new series a try..because Sylvain Reynard. As always he captivated me in a world of art and beauty.

Raven is a young broken woman working as an art restorer in Florence. She catches the eye -or nose rather- of an ancient vampire, the Prince of Florence. Together they battle there seen and unseen enemies in the desire to find hope and love within each other.

I loved how Sylvain intertwined the story of the Emerson's from his previous series into the book, giving the work of Botticelli an honorary front row seat.

This book has a mild cliffhanger ending, I did purchase the next in the series, which I would suggest if you are an anxious listener as I am.

John Michael Morgan did a great job on the narration- he was able to captivate me immediately- with distinct true accents fitting the different cultural characters in the book.

I spent a week struggling through this book- the narration was terrible, which was disappointing as I thought Nicole did I fabulous job of the first book in the Seven series.
I would recommend rather to read if you are a Seven fan.
As for the story, I can not give an honest review. The narrators portrayal of the main female lead was distracting, and made the character into a whiny, irritating six year old girl for me.
Nicole has a beautiful haunting voice, she should not have to change it so drastically to portray the different female characters.

Putting a woman on her knees before me is what really makes my cock hard. I f**k with dominant force and absolute control. I demand complete surrender from my conquests. Savage man, loner, warrior... I am dangerous at my core. I have lived amidst the untamed wild of the rainforest, in a society that reveres me and where every woman falls before me in subjugation. Now I've been discovered. Forced to return to a world that I have forgotten about and to a culture that is only vaguely familiar to my senses.

Toss together a quiet barista with a not-so-lawful side-business, a crazy Vietnam Vet, a pothead, a drag queen, family and friends who will not mind their own business, a few stun guns, and a bag of diamonds, and mix them all up with some shootings, a high-speed chase and car bombs exploding, then hang on for your first wild Rock Chick ride.

I don't even know what to say- this was bad. The heroin is the most irritating persona I have ever encountered in a book. She was portrayed as a lost puppy, with absolutely no personality and NO brain. I will not listen to another book by Kristen Ashley...and this one will most certainly be returned.
