It is Nick and Amy Dunne's fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick's clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn't doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media - as well as Amy's fiercely doting parents - the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he's definitely bitter - but is he really a killer?

One of those books that I wanted to read before watching the movie. It was so drawn out that I did struggle to finish. The narration was good but did wish end was soon but had no idea where I was within book due to NO CHAPTERS. So could not tell where you were not could you book mark during reading.

From #1 New York Times-best-selling author Nora Roberts comes a novel of a woman who needs nothing, a man who sees everything, and the web of deceit, greed, and danger that brings them together - and that could tear them apart… As a professional house-sitter and freelance writer, nothing ties Lila Emerson down - not her work, not a home, and definitely not a relationship. She spends her life moving from one job to the next, sometimes crashing at a friend's Manhattan apartment.

Pat Conroy is without doubt America's favorite storyteller, a writer who portrays the anguished truth of the human heart and the painful secrets of families in richly lyrical prose and unforgettable narratives. Now, in Beach Music, he tells of the dark memories that haunt generations, in a story that spans South Carolina and Rome and reaches back into the unutterable terrors of the Holocaust.

This had a unique story line but after almost every line the narrator followed with "He said"-"She said"-"I said"-"(insert any character name) said." It took away from story and almost caused me to give up listening. Good narrator has inflection and makes it easy to tell characters apart from one another...this was NOT the case!

There was way too much repetition (from prior 2 in series)in this third book of the series. When I first began reading this third book I had to keep checking back to make sure I had the correct book in the series. There were many chapters that contained ery long word for word excerpts from the previous books (especially the second book). The new story within the third book was shortened due to so much content from the first books. I understand the author may have been writing the second and third book so that a reader could pick up any of the three and be able to read a complete book without too many questions....but entire chapters repeated word for word is too much.

Even marrying when—and who—she’s supposed to. If the stuffy Duke of Sussex cannot spark the passion she craves, he can at least give her a family, a home of her own, and a place to belong.
