Along with her familiar, a changeling spirit, she was hoping for a few months of quiet, running a small magicians' supply store in Fairbanks, Alaska. Peace isn't in the cards, though. Demons are raising hell in Seattle. She's on her way to kick some serious demon ass, when a Sidhe shows up and demands she accompany him to England to quell a demon uprising.

Any additional comments?

I bought this on Audible and I had an enjoyable time listening to this series. The narrator Hollie Jackson did a very good job and I really like the various accents that she used. This is my first series by Ann Gimpel and I'm impressed by what I've "read" so far. This series was very well written, I like the world building and I connected with the characters. I'm not much of a fan where the heroines are tall (I prefer them small and petite) but I'm suprised that I really like the 3 heroines featured here. My favourite is Jenna, she's the tallest but in the first 2 books she was potrayed by the "weakest" of the 3. Needless to say, I also enjoyed her book the most because it's a menage and I love menages! I'm definitely looking forward to read more books by Ms Ann Gimpel.

Most people want to avoid thinking about death, but Caitlin Doughty - a 20-something with a degree in medieval history and a flair for the macabre - took a job at a crematory, turning morbid curiosity into her life’s work. With an original voice that combines fearless curiosity and mordant wit, Caitlin tells an unusual coming-of-age story full of bizarre encounters, gallows humor, and vivid characters (both living and very dead).

I've been a subscriber to Caitlin's YouTube channel for a few years, perhaps one of the first few. It's really heartening to see how far Caitlin has achieved and this book is the testimony of it. I'm not in the industry, not even closed to it. However I do relate with the fear of death. Thank you Caitlin for this book.

When small-town Nebraska sheriff Hixon Drake meets Greta Dare, the connection couldn't be stronger, but the timing couldn't be worse. Dealing with the fallout of a divorce he never wanted and setting up a new home for his kids, Hix becomes that guy, that one he never wanted to be, and puts a stop to things before they can even start. Protecting his kids and himself is his only priority. Greta, on the other hand, has found the place for her and the brother she adores that's perfect for them - a sleepy little town in Nebraska.

Oh gosh. Oh gosh. Oh gosh. I've been on an audiobook binge lately and Audible has been my BFF ... like seriously BFF! I was hemming and hawing for a good year whether to subscribe to Audible and I am sooo glad that I did. This new baby from one of my favouritest (made up word and I'm keeping it) author eva, Ms Kristen Ashley is now released exclusively on Audible. Otherwise, you will have to will till November 2017 for the ebook and paperback.

Now. This. Book. It is pure KA and if you've been reading KA's book (I've read 99%), you know her style that is so uniquely KA. I've seen other authors trying to emulate KA's style but oh how they fell short *heh* I ADORE Greta, love love love her character. I'm pretty good with Hix too but he's not in my top 5 favourite KA's Alpha Male Heroes (Joe ... I love you!!) Hix and Greta, I really like their chemistry. I like how they are with each other. Hix was a total douchebag (twice) but he redeemed himself oh-so-sweetly. Greta is so giving but she's no pushover. Her relationship with her ass-of-a-mother is complicated but I was so glad when she finally put her foot down.

Drama. Now of course there must be drama. This is a KA novel we're talking about here people! Drama is aplenty. From the bitchy ex-wife to the conniving not-mother-of-the-year. There is also an element of murder mystery but here is where I find it a bit meh ... and that's why I can't give it a total 5 Stars. I wasn't satisfied with that part of the story, the conclusion for the murder/mystery is so anti-climatic to me ... but I still love you Ms Kristen Ashley!

Surprisingly enough, the one character that slayed me was Greta's brother, Andy. He stole the scene each time he's in it. My heart breaks for him, I cried (yeah, wouldn't be KA's novel if I don't cry) when I learned about Andy's backstory. He's so pure and I am so happy of his story progression. Shaw(Hix's son), I would love to have KA write a book or even a novella about Shaw. He's an Alpha in the making, at the end of this book he left after graduating highschool to sign up as a Marine.

As this is an audiobook, it would be remise of me not to talk about the narrators. Yes, we have 2 narrators and they are both awesome! Lance Greenfield did an A+ job and oh boy, that voice of his just bring shivers down my spine. His voice when he narrates as Hix was hot hot hot *fans self*. Also when he narrates the sexy parts and put emphasis on some of the words .. oh momma! I had to cross my legs and bite my lips!! Erin Mallon read Greta's POV and she was awesome too, she evoked just the right emotion in her voice that I was totally absorbed in the story.

So to end, I did not regret using my Audible credit for this story. I know some folks find audiobook a bit offputting and they can't get into it. I was like that too. It takes time for me to get used to it and to be honest, I still blush when it comes to the sexy parts. Go give audiobooks a try!
