First time reading/listening to a book by Drew Haynes - and the only thing I can say is that it's enthralling and I didn't want it to end. A part of me wishes for follow up books - a series - but another part is really content on how the book ends.

Thanks for a great book. The narrators were perfect for the book :-)

Well. that's IT. I've suffered from debilitating migraine for decades, and yes I can push through - but not in the long run. For millions of real migraine sufferers it's not just an excuse. Almost 1,5 hrs left og the book, but I'm quitting now

Would you try another book from S. M. Stirling and/or Todd McLaren?

No

Would you ever listen to anything by S. M. Stirling again?

Maybe

Did Todd McLaren do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

He has a nice voice, but I found especially the female voices to be lacking. Do they really have to sound so hoarse?

What character would you cut from Dies the Fire?

The protector to start with

Any additional comments?

Too many lucky coincidences at one place. The story might also be more interesting if the two main faction for instance had been on different continensts. Shallow character building and too many details.

A romance novel, not sci-fi

Would you try another book from Diana Gabaldon and/or Davina Porter?

I really like the narrator, Davina Porter. She has a wonderful voice and the only reason I made it to chapter 17-18.

Has Outlander turned you off from other books in this genre?

Yes. Romance novels are not my cup of tea.

Which scene was your favorite?

Historical referenses
