Admittedly, I only picked this up because David Tennant was the narrator. And he was the only reason I stayed in the beginning. It took me a while to get into this story some of the characters were a bit annoying. But about halfway through, I was entirely sucked in and eagerly waiting to see where the story would go. A super interesting and unique world with well-developed characters.

Come with us to an Enchanted Place, a forest where Winnie-the-Pooh lived with Piglet, Rabbit, Owl, Eeyore, Kanga, and Little Roo. The stories are about Christopher Robin and these good companions having wonderful times getting in and out of trouble. It is all very exciting and, really, quite thrilling no matter how young or old you may be. It is painful to try and imagine what the world would be like without them.

Pooh always has been and always will be a favorite of mine. The ONLY thing that doesn't make this audio version 5 stars is that it's so jarring to not hear the Disney voices of these characters. It's so ingrained in me to have Jim Cummings as Pooh that it took some getting used to. Especially Piglet. But that's more my problem.

I am such a huge Lord of the Rings nerd. I take great pride in the fact that in middle school my friends bet me that I couldn't read the whole thing in a week. I did! (Failing a science test in the process). But I've been hooked ever since I can remember. Peter Jackson's movies soon became a huge part of that obsession. I can't count how many times I've watched the extended editions and all their behind-the-scenes content. So naturally, I had to read (well listen to) this book. Admittedly, I did know much of the stories of the actual production from those extras on the DVDs. But it was super fascinating to learn more about Peter's history as a director and more of the pre and post production work that went into getting the movies made. I'm not a super huge fan of The Hobbit movies, but there are some cool insights into them as well.

As an audio book, It's really long. Not entirely like the Lord of the Rings itself. Also, towards the end, it felt like it was getting a bit repetitive with a few two many endings (Return of the King anyone?) The narrator, Tristam Wymark is good. He does good impressions of the actors and Jackson when they speak and he didn't get irritating to listen to, even after 22 hours.

For anyone who is a fan of Peter Jackson and his Lord of the Rings movies, this really is a must read. It's super interesting, full of cool stories and interviews, and sheds a little light on Middle Earth.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I think it's time for another marathon of these movies again.

But the characters were all well written and interesting. Good read (listen) for any reader, young or old

Some of these stories are so touching to listen to. The narration and reporting is good as well. Not for younger listeners, but definitely recommend!

On Christmas Eve, 1818, in a small Austrian village, a local Catholic priest and a church organist composed a Christmas carol that changed the course of holiday music forever. Exactly two hundred years later, it’s not the holiday season until you’ve heard “Silent Night” in the car, at the store and on TV – all in the same day.

In Jingle Bell Pop, John Seabrook, acclaimed author of The Song Machine, takes us deep inside the holiday music business. We go behind the scenes to meet some of the producers, songwriters and recording artists responsible for the timeless tunes we hear on repeat between Thanksgiving and Christmas every year.
