Evan was Orphan X. He broke with the Program, using everything he learned to disappear and reinvent himself as the Nowhere Man, a man who helps the truly desperate when no one else can. Harmony House is more than a “special place for special people.” It’s a think tank where high-functioning autistic savants harness their unique abilities for the benefit of society. Resident Eddie Parks’s contribution: an “echo box” that can re-create never-recorded sounds using acoustic archeology. All Eddie wants is to hear his late mother’s voice. But what he’s created is inadvertently posing a threat to national security. To Harmony House’s shadowy government backers and radical extremists, the echo box is the ultimate intelligence asset - an end to the very concept of secrecy.

I am very surprised on how good this book was. I had been struggling to find something to get me back into listening and this one had me finding and making ways to listen to it. It also helped that I had a hard time guessing what was going to happen next.

Eric disappeared when he was three years old. Ben looked away for only a second at the grocery store, but that was all it took. His brother was gone. Vanished right into the sticky air of the Florida Panhandle. They say you've got only a couple days to find a missing person. Forty-eight hours to conduct searches, knock on doors, and talk to witnesses. Two days to tear the world apart if there's any chance of putting yours back together. That's your window. At times it felt hard to follow. More so because it had some parts where it couldn't keep my focus and I had to go back 5 minutes to where I started daydreaming about something else.

Maybe that's more on me, than on this book, but overall it's okay. Not where I couldn't finish it, but certainly couldn't bare for it to end. Good, not great.

I was really excited for this book. However, it wasn't what I was expecting.
There are some small holes in the storyline, and at times it became more of an essay of someone's political philosophy, but it didn't detract from the story.

My only real grip was how Dennis Quaid would act some of the characters. Most of the time it flowed pretty well. Other. Times. It. Sounded. Like. A. Pause. After. Every. Word.

Besides that it was a really good book, and outlined how vulnerable we really are.

Also liked that it threw in another book I like to reference "The Fourth Turning"
