Nearing the end of a suspended jail sentence should unlock a brighter future for CJ Davis, only the chip on his shoulder is as hard to shift as his bad reputation. Born into a family of career criminals who live down Davis Road, an address the cops have dubbed Davis Row, his name alone is like a rap sheet that makes optimism impossible. Brand-new parole officer Noah Huxley is determined to see the good in men like CJ. After all, he knows firsthand that bad things can happen to good people.

Emory still mourns the loss of his husband five years prior, and Jon is reeling with grief from the recent death of his twin brother. Sparks fly when mutual friends introduce them, but it's so much more than basic attraction. There's an undeniable awareness and a sense of belonging that neither man can deny.

I am a huge fan of Joel Leslie but I was not a fan of his portrayal of Jonathan Silver. I the ‘Curl Up and Die’ series it mentions Jonathan only showed up in Louisiana 2 years ago. His accent seems too thick to not have lived in Louisiana for very long. I lived in New Orleans for more than 10 years and know people who’ve lived there longer and we don’t have accents that thick. He sounds like a Cajun black man friends m deep in the swamp but that’s not who the cover portrays. Other than that I did enjoy the book. It was nice to finally hear their story.

Amber wakes up in a hospital. She can't move. She can't speak. She can't open her eyes. She can hear everyone around her, but they have no idea. Amber doesn't remember what happened, but she has a suspicion her husband had something to do with it. Alternating between her paralyzed present, the week before her accident, and a series of childhood diaries from 20 years ago, this brilliant psychological thriller audiobook asks: Is something really a lie if you believe it's the truth?

I enjoyed the story and I love J.F.Harding, but I felt a disconnect between Maddox and Ben. I felt Ben was always only trying to please Maddox and never really felt he was as into Maddox as much as Maddox was into him. Even up to the ending I didn’t feel that overwhelming happiness that I like when the two heroes get their HEA. But I was glad to read their story.

NYPD Detective Alec MacAidan has always been good with weird. After all, his life has been a string of the unexplainable. He'd been told his fated one would be a man wielding a shield, but he didn't expect him to be human, and he certainly didn't expect that shield to be a police badge.
