I probably would have enjoyed this book much more if the voice matched the ages of the characters better.
The male characters were okay. But the female lead left so much to be desired. She’s supposed to be 28, she sounded like she was 62.
Besides that, the book was good. Just this particular narrator isn’t my best pick.

The storyline wasn’t bad.
I enjoyed it until the very last when it suddenly switched from the familiar female voice to a striking masculine voice. That threw me off completely. Why not have that switch come through out the book? Or better yet, not at all?
I prefer the reading from Summer over Tyler.
Might’ve been able to give more stars for performance if that last bit didn’t happen.

I was skeptical after reading some of the reviews.
“Too religious”
“Body shaming”
All of those negative words. I almost didn’t give it a try.
Honestly it’s a fine book. Yes it revolves around a young girl’s struggle with her own identity and the trials that teenage girls that are not main stream in body type or in mind set; must go thru in order to grow and find their own self worth.
It’s powerful if you listen to the message touted throughout the book.
Nay sayers obviously were not paying attention.

Worth the read/listen even if it slowed down somewhat at times.
I’d recommend this to anyone that likes a good book.

The narrator did a fine job on making the different characters stand out.
Some of the time, the difference was slightly blurred. But all in all, it was well read.

The story and plot were different than most any book I’ve had the pleasure to read, or in this case listen to.
I enjoyed it. Would give it another listen.

I don’t mind serious plotline however it seems that with the Cabots series it’s more serious than I would prefer it stays heavy throughout the book until you get to the very end and then finally relief from the constant tug-of-war of the heavy emotions it’s not a relaxing read but it’s not terrible to read.
