Good book club selection. Nice to read something that is uplifting. I liked the way the authored revealed how people that seem to have it all still have insecurities; everyone is going through something no matter how successful.

That’s the first sentence & it made me smile. This book was just a confirmation on how tough and wonderful it is to be a black woman. I listened but I think this better as a read. Something to go back and read again.

Out of the Easy is a great story of how children can survive and come out of dysfunction. The narration was authentic making the characters come to life.

Thought provoking. This was a story of racial bias was told from such a unique perspective. Both African Americans & Caucasians can both learn something from the lives of Ruth, Kennedy & Turk.

Great story telling with very interesting characters. The characteristics were realistic and showed what women will do for what they love (children, man, money, status). After reading this, I realized this was the last of a 3 book series. I will definitely pick you the other two for my summer reading list.

I read Paradise with my book club. Many had a difficult times making sense of it. I had to listen twice myself. There are a lot characters and it is difficult to keep up with who is who. Over all it was an interestingly bizarre story that introduces you to the strangest group of people. Morrison did make me curious about all these troubled people but it disappointed me by ending so with many unanswered questions.

I read this with my book club. It was 3 times as long as our usual monthly reads but well with the time. I was not sure if I should feel sympathy or disgust for Theo and Boris. The entire club loves it.
