I seriously don't get this book. The first half or so was fairly interesting as it built up the story's line. Then...it just devolved. I couldn't keep my interest on it. I kept spacing out. Because it became tediously boring and pretty much went nowhere. I kept waiting, but no. Nothing. I sped up the narration to get through it faster, just to see if there was some big denouement at the end. Nada. Snore. zzzzzzz
I'd pass it up.

I live in ME, so of course it's cool to listen to. I picked this book because a coworker left a couple of books in the 'free pile' that are later in the series. I'm very picky about how I spend my credits, but was happy with this one. It's interesting, engaging, but doesn't require TOO m

Finished it in a day. Put off other stuff I should be doing because I just didn't want to stop. I'm not good at analyzing all the ways a book is or isn't good the way many reviewers are, but I definitely know when I like it. Really well written. Despite the dark subject matter, there were many moments when human nature was pegged so accurately they got a delighted bark of laughter out of me. Wrapped up well at the end. I'm going to look for more by this author as soon as I post this. Loved the narration too--perfect!

Overall, it was okay. Not a complete waste of time at all, but nothing special either. Don't think I'd do another by the same author. Performance was stilted enough that it was distracting much of the time.

Solid story. I love Lucas Davenport--he's a fun character. If you like twisted murder mysteries, the Prey novels will do it for you.

A truly great story. Totally worth a credit and your time. If you are a dog lover, it is a total must-listen. Even if you aren't, it's a worthwhile listen. I know and care nothing about racing, and I love dogs so much that I'm reluctant to read (ears or eyes) stories that I fear will wrench my heart strings. I'm SO glad I started this one. Couldn't stop. Hated going into work after listening on my commute in. Don't miss it.

Enjoyable all the way through. Light. Fun. Loved the info about the animals. Especially loved the care and respect for them evident throughout. Teddy is great--I'll definitely want to hear more about her shenanigans : )

First listen (of 200+) that I couldn't even force myself to finish. The first quarter or so was interesting, then it devolved into...? I'm not sure how to describe it...a lot of breathless explanation of present and past...that goes nowhere. I can grasp basic concepts of physics and time travel, but this was just...mushy. And did I mention 'breathless explanation'? Yikes. I hate to criticize performances, but the delivery for Harper's voice seemed to constantly on the edge of some BIG NEWS...and there never was any. I know it got a lot of good reviews, or I wouldn't have bothered, but honestly, I really, really didn't like it. It was actually making me feel irritated and 'edgy' as I pushed myself to try to finish it. I finally gave up--life is too short!

Highly useful info, well presented. Despite recitation of a lot of studies and statistics, this book was very easy to assimilate and follow. I usually glaze over when I hear numbers and studies, but here I found myself rewinding (or jumping back) to make sure I got it right--I didn't want to miss any of the information : )

Really just an outline. No depth, no how-tos. Just some basic concepts. Nothing new. I'm not sure it would even be useful to a newbie to the minimalist concept. Narrator was fine.
