At once wildly original and stuffed with irresistible nostalgia, Ready Player One is a spectacularly genre-busting, ambitious, and charming debut—part quest novel, part love story, and part virtual space opera set in a universe where spell-slinging mages battle giant Japanese robots, entire planets are inspired by Blade Runner, and flying DeLoreans achieve light speed.

In that first volume, we were introduced to the remarkable world of Roshar, a world both alien and magical, where gigantic hurricane-like storms scour the surface every few days and life has adapted accordingly. Roshar is shared by humans and the enigmatic, humanoid Parshendi, with whom they are at war.

Many plot elements and characters interwoven into a fantastic story of battle, betrayal, honor and power.

It takes some time to capture all the characters but they are a pleasure to nurture as they develop along with the story. Your patience will be rewarded.

This is book 2 in the series, be kind to yourself and listen to book 1 first.

Enjoy!

A read of the first book is a must. I enjoyed this story. Geektastic moments abound. Some bits describing essence was perhaps a little overdone but I was entertained through to the last.
