I have had all the Harry Bosch books from Audible and thoroughly enjoy them, and was eagerly awaiting this latest book. I am not sure why there has been a change in the narration of the Harry Bosch series, but Christine Lakin is terrible as the voice of Harry Bosch, plus most of the other male voices she just doesn't have the range and cadence to pull of a male voice. I am sorry for that, but instead of Titus Welliver's great voice as Harry Bosch, plus his ability with all other voices, when Christine is narrating he sounds like a 30something future trader on Wall Street, all seduction, it is just awful. I couldn't get passed the first chapter. Will be seeking a refund and will go out and buy the book and pretend it is Titus doing the narration. Completely spoiled the book for me. I am sorry for this review.

I do enjoy these books, my only complaint is that Sam’s ‘i am the only one who can do this’ attitude, as if her team can’t function without her, is a little wearing. She is too OFT and self righteous and boorish at times. I do particularly enjoy the side stories of Avery,Shelby, and the other relationships around Sam and Nick. I do think it is time that the story lines moved beyond always having some link to family or friends.

Jason Thorn...my brother's childhood friend. Oh, how stupidly in love with that boy I was. He was the first boy who made me blush, my first official crush. Sounds beautiful so far, right? That excitement that bubbles up inside you, those famous butterflies you feel for the very first time - he was the reason for them all. But you get to live in that fairy tale world only until they crush your hopes and dreams and then stomp on your heart for good measure. And boy did he crush my little heart into pieces.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

A better story would have helped, it was just awful, boring, slow, ponderous, predictable not even Sebastian York, who can make a menu sound sexy, could help this book.

Has To Love Jason Thorn turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, just the author

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Lidia Dornet and Sebastian York ?

Neither they did a commendable job with an awful story. I bought the book mainly because Sebastian York was narrating and his voice gives the characters life, but I guess it goes to show you actually need have a good book first.

What character would you cut from To Love Jason Thorn?

The characters were ok, although I wanted to throttle Olive by about chapter 4, but the story line was so improbable and predictable, I gave up after chapter 7 went to the end of the book and listened to the last 45mins, in which I managed to get the whole story and ending. so the other 8 hours odd could have been avoided, made it a short short story.

Would you try another book from M.S. Force and/or Cooper North and Brooke Bloomingdale ?

Enjoyed the narration which is about all I can say in a positive manner about this series. I made the mistake of waiting until all three were available and bought them together so I could listen to each one, they were terrible, no story just went from one sex scene to another just got fed up with them. I wanted to slap what's her name (can't even be bothered to remember her name) she was just so blah.

Would you ever listen to anything by M.S. Force again?

Not unless the next book was a big improvement.

What didn’t you like about Cooper North and Brooke Bloomingdale ’s performance?

Nothing they were great, how they managed to get through these books is a mystery to me.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

None
