Raw, intimate, and timely, Bolz-Weber’s latest book offers a full-blown overhaul of our harmful and antiquated ideas about sex, gender, and our bodies. This is a journey of holy resistance. Along the way, as antidotes to shame, heresy, and all-too-familiar injustice, Bolz-Weber shares stories, poetry, and scripture, cultivating resilient hope and audacious love rooted in good news that is “powerful enough, transgressive enough, and beautiful enough to heal not only the ones who have been hurt but also those who have done the hurting.”

This book is first of all about shame, and we need all the books that speak truth and gospel good news in the face of shame that we can get.

This book is beautiful and filled with beautiful stories that we need to hear. I am so thankful Nadia wrote it.

The audio was so well read it was a delight to listen to!

Before becoming America's first-ever female network chief meteorologist or appearing on Dancing with the Stars, ABC News's Ginger Zee checked herself into a mental health hospital.

Natural Disaster: I Cover Them. I Am One. is Ginger's heartbreaking, hilarious, and harshly honest life story - from Dickhead's (you won't soon forget that name) deck on Lake Michigan to her storm-chasing dream at ABC News.

I loved Gingers authentic story telling as well as how she brought it all to life in her reading of it.

I didn’t know any of her story beforehand and I’m thankful she is sharing it with the world!

She found that leaders in organizations ranging from small entrepreneurial startups and family-owned businesses to nonprofits, civic organizations, and Fortune 50 companies all ask the same question: How do you cultivate braver, more daring leaders, and how do you embed the value of courage in your culture? This audiobook answers this question.

Even if you have read her other books, this book is worth a read or listen. Yes, there is some repetition but it’s stuff most of us could use review on. And if you are in a leadership position, the stories and leadership specific context will be especially helpful.

I especially appreciate the audio as Brene is able to not only read with the enthusiasm and talent she shows in her public speaking, but also edits appropriately for audio in certain areas. Also I appreciate that a workbook and other resources are available on her website for items better in print, so while I still my buy the book in print at some point, I do not need to simply to use these items.

I had heard and read a lot of hype on this book from other writers I love, but I’m not the audience for this book. There were only a handful of even somewhat new ideas, and many of them were written from a very privileged position of having money and enough health to travel, etc. as well as an expectation to have the ability to work long hours and still have the energy to do additional activities.

This was the first I’ve read/listened to by this author. Perhaps I should have started with another.

Lisa Gungor thought she knew her own story: small-town girl meets boy in college and they blissfully walk down the aisle into happily ever after. Their Christian faith was their lens and foundation for everything - their marriage, their music, their dreams for the future. But as their dreams began to come true, she began to wonder if her religion was really representative of the "good news" she had been taught.

I loved the way the author weaved her story together, and shared authenticity about her journey through life and faith.

It was well written and the audio book was performed well. Pure pleasure and gorgeous. I highly recommend it.
