Story was good but the narrative was not great for me. So much so that i almost stop listening and almost bought book to read. If i had time to just sit back and read i would have.

Ms. Wolfs narration of the book was grinding. Her voices she used for most characters were ok. But her voice for liis was over dramatic with pretentiousness. It didn't match the character of a tough FBI agent. Would have fit more in a English period piece. Not sure i could buy another book narrated by Mehgan Wolf, no offense!

The eligible dragon shifter males must hunt a handful of females. It's first catch, first serve. The biggest problem is that the females are human. Despite feedback to the contrary, Coal thinks they are weak and breakable. In his opinion, not capable of surviving the hunt, let alone the mating that will follow. He doesn't believe that a lowly human is capable of birthing him a royal heir, so why has his brother, the king, tasked him with claiming one?

Last 50 percent is way too sugary sweet! It was like what girls fantasize about guys saying in such feminine way rather than masculine. He was alpha for about 25 percent of book, then he was a push over. Couldn't wait to drop readng it. Won't be reading book 2.
