Oh God why can’t my name be ANNA!?

First- let me just say I’ve listened to this book so many times and I thought I already did a review but apparently I suck!

Anyway- EW and JM rocked this book out!! I loved every single word written and spoken! Jayne Frost is an amazing author and just when you thought okay whose life can’t get more jacked up, boom...she hits you with another 1-2 gut punch! Sean and Anna are young and in love. Sean is on the cusp of making a real name for himself. Anna is smart and in love w/Sean but she’s got a pretty good head on herself and wants to attend school. Fair enough- well until Sean acts out like a selfish tool.

This is a second chance romance guaranteed to break your freggin heart then put it back altogether again. Missing From Me can be read / listened to as a standalone or within the series. Seeing as though Elena and Jacob are narrating it- bringing the story to life...why in the world would anyone with working ear drums ever pass up the opportunity to listen to this yummy goodness in a series? I’ll never know.

Fantastic doesn’t even come close to how good this boos is.. And no...I didn’t receive a credit or whatever for this review. I used my own money to pay for it and would buy it twice more. 🤣

#AnnaBaby! ❤️❤️❤️

Long Shot was my first Kennedy Ryan book and let me tell you...it was AMAZING!

Having little insight about the book based on the description, I was attracted to the cover and one of the narrators. I ended up listening to this book twice on Hoopla (online library app) then subsequently purchased it on audible; it was that GOOD! I'm a total narrator snob and one of the narrators isn't in my top 10 but BOTH narrators were FANTASTIC! I'm not a person typically into sports books, but I do love a good romance and this book fit the bill.

Kennedy Ryan's imagination is a true talent when it comes to writing and the narrators breathed life into each character. It was simply magnificent; giving readers and listeners an inside perspective of what people endure. The audiobook truly takes the listener on an emotional journey from suffering to empowerment, longing to love...it's that good. Long Shot will definitely pull triggers for those with traumatic life experiences. For me, I cried like a baby! It opened my eyes to an unfortunately common scenario in life that I unfairly passed judgement onto my own close family member. It's so easy to say ridicule, chastise and judge when the answer seems obvious, but you never know the depth of someone's pain and / or experience(s) unless you walk a day in their shoes. Kennedy Ryan, thank you for helping me gain a better understanding my mom!

When ballet dancer Clara Campbell arrives in New Orleans, lonely and homesick, she is immediately captivated by the story of Windisle Plantation and the tragic tale that is said to have transpired beyond its gate. Legend has it that it is abandoned by all living souls, but to Clara’s great surprise, it is not a ghost she hears through the stone wall surrounding the property, but a flesh and blood man: a scarred stranger with a pain deeper and darker than the churning waters of the Mississippi river that flows beside his self-imposed prison.

Normally I hate books that straddle between 1st and 3rd person but I loved every word in this book. The narrators were mostly magnificent! I say mostly bcz our heroine was supposed to be young, I believe in her early 20's...and Virginia sounded a bit drab at times. But for the most part she did a bang up job- especially during the flashbacks in the 1800's. And ZW, I don't think he could ever do anything wrong on a mic. Well...unless maybe he accidentally pooted really loudly and everyone heard it or something stupid like that! But that would never happen. 😂 God I hope no one really reads my reviews past the first sentence or two. Anyway, the book itself was amazing and it's definitely worth a credit but I happened to get it on sale, YAY! ❤️

British ad exec Dylan Locke isn't looking for love. He isn't looking for fate. He's definitely not looking for Audrey Lind. She's pretty, far too young, and overly romantic - in short, exhausting. But when the girl, young enough to be his daughter, literally lands in his lap and asks for his expertise, he'd be lying if he said he wasn't interested. In her body, in her innocence, in her philosophy. In the kind of kismet that starts with kisses. But Audrey isn't looking for love either - she's looking for lessons, and she's certain Dylan knows everything she needs to learn.

Carly Robins British accent sounded more like a witch or someone real evil. Her natural voice is just a little better than the accent. It's so high pitched it makes me want to cringe. Shane East is great...though not my favorite at all. He sounds sorta theatrical and that does nothing for me. But the narrators aren't going to prevent me from getting the next book.

As far as the story goes, it was great to hear what went on with other characters "behind the scenes" of previous books. This story was good and very plausible. I liked it a lot but no way would I re-listen. Sorry! ❤️

Overall, I HATE books in 3rd person but I was happy this book at least jumped back and forth between 1st and 3rd.

Narration: Anything Zachary Webber narrators is golden in my book. Well- at least he makes his parts golden and improves the book overall IMO. But Jessie Briar as the overall, 3rd person narrator was a drag. Her 3rd person voice was way too theatrical for the content of the book. However, during her 1st parts, she did a fantastic job.

Story: I really love the theme and direction of this book. Lots of twists and a descent amount of push and pull.

Characters: Alex...LOVE HIM (Although I could be bias lololol). Seriously, on the surface he seems like a jerk but he's just a guy who knows what he wants- I just don't see what he sees in the heroine outside of her intelligence on paper and beauty. Angel- ugh! She offers good advice as a talk show therapist but outside of that she seems like someone who needs therapy herself. Also- her character is insecure and lacks the intellect you'd expect from a doctor. No character or person is perfect but she seems more like a college freshmen more than a grown woman. She can't see a good thing when it's right in her face.

Lastly, I'm glad this book finally made it in the RP! I wanted this book so bad but couldn't get past the theatrical 3rd party parts to buy and keep this series so I'm glad I could listen for free and at the end of the series I may or may not purchase it so I can add it to my ZW collection lol!

I flippin’ loved this book!

Narrators: ZW is amazing as always- so freggin talented because he delivers distinct personalities for each character. IDK how he keeps up with voices associated with each character to make them different. Great performance! VR did a good job as well, though her voice sounds a bit more docile than humorous. IMO- Ava Erickson’s witty tone would’ve made an already great performance even better!

Story: Light hearted and hilarious! It’s pretty YA if you ask me but that’s okay- deep, heavy books aren’t always what the audience needs. Anyway- there was a good amount of character building; coupled with a touch of angst! It was fantastic although Cassie’s virginity would’ve been more believable if she was the younger sister verses the older one (unless I heard that wrong with all my laughter muffling the sound lol)! Oh and George...what a guy, he’s fabulous! ❤️

Worth a credit? ABSOLUTELY!!

No more “you should meet my son, nephew, grandson, the butcher, the guy down the street who mows my lawn.” People mean well, but machines know better, so I'll rely on the great dating algorithms of the web to find my ideal man, thank you very much. Soon enough, it looks like I’ve found him - his screen name is Lucky Suit, and he’s hilarious, quick-witted, and full of heart. But when we finally get together in person, I have the distinct feeling I’ve met him before. Funny enough - he says the same thing about me.

I LOVED IT!

Narrators- AA and ZW are the Dynamic Duo of audiobooks! They have so much chemistry and are both fantastic actors. I can’t get enough of them! They made each character come to life in an already fantastic novella!

Story- While it is a short book, hence the novella description...it was a little too short but it didn’t take away from the chuckles and swoon worthy story. I still think a novella could’ve still be achieved if it were an hour longer and touched more on the H/h relationship. I’m happy there wasn’t insta love / sex / fighting in this book. It was a perfect combination of smart people with a great sense of humor going through the motions of dating and living life. Loved the grandma- she’s hilarious!

Truly “must listen” when you need to smile!❤️

First of all...I've had the IRIN Chronicles for 2 years and have listened to the books about 10xs already but I forget to do reviews on books I've purchased myself. SMH!

Narrator- BOMB.COM! Okay so y'all know my ears are slaves to Zachary Webber's magnificent voice so- I'll keep this review as unbias as possible. HE EFFING BLEW IT AWAY DUDE! There's gotta be 10-15 characters in this book, with various accents plus it goes from first person to third person so you know it was a complex performance! Every scene, character and emotion was authentic to the person / situation and I never once got confused. ZW did an outstanding job acting out the story in this book. I don't even like paranormal but I got it bcz he was narrating it (plus it was on sale lol) anyway- damn good job in defining each characters personality and making them an individual, this includes the heroine. There is no other narrator that could've done it; male or female. NONE! PERIOD!!

Story- it was AMAZING! As I mentioned, I only got to booz bcz of the narrator but I LOVED the series (well, books 1-3...if ZW narrated the 4th book I would've gotten that too but 🥴...). Anyway- since I'm unfamiliar with paranormal I had no experience with certain types of common placed creatures. Elizabeth Hunter did an excellent job explaining the types of supernatural-angelic, type creature thingies without making the story elementary. The love scenes were written in good taste. The character descriptions and places are excellent, affording the reader / listener a visual of what is happening. The down side is, it was written so well that I compare every other paranormal romance book to this and they all pale in comparison to the IRIN Chronicles. Anyway- even if it's in the RP, I'd buy it all over again if I had to- it was that good, dude! ❤️
