This book was recommended to me, so I gave it the old college try. First, the narrator needs to find another line of work. It is almost un-listenable. Also, the narrator interchanges character names. I am not sure if that was his mistake or poor editing. I am near the end, but don't know if I'll finish. I really don't care what happens to the characters.

I have been a fan of Daryl Gregory for some time and again, he doesn't disappoint. Gregory has a talent for shining new light on subjects that have been done to death and make them new and different. Aside from the awesome story, the narrator, Ari Fliakos was amazing. A narrator can make or break a story and Fliakos definitely enhanced the experience of Spoonbenders. I would highly recommend this book and any other by Gregory for those who like a great story told in a new way.

No one knows exactly when it began or where it originated. A terrifying new plague is spreading like wildfire across the country, striking cities one by one: Boston, Detroit, Seattle. The doctors call it Draco Incendia Trychophyton. To everyone else it's Dragonscale, a highly contagious, deadly spore that marks its hosts with beautiful black and gold marks across their bodies - before causing them to burst into flames. Millions are infected; blazes erupt everywhere. There is no antidote. No one is safe.

This book, narrated by Kate Mulgrew whom is an amazing narrator, was mesmerizing. Joe Hill has inherited his father's talent for character development. These characters are REAL. The story is original, disturbing, and completely entertaining.

Just when you think things are about to work out, Hill throws another monkey wrench. Even up to the end, you never really know how it's all going to work out.

Great listen. Great author. Great narrator.

When she rides her bicycle over the rickety old covered bridge in the woods near her house, she always emerges in the places she needs to be. Vic doesn't tell anyone about her unusual ability, because she knows no one will believe her. She has trouble understanding it herself.

The ever after, the demonic realm that parallels our own, is shrinking, and if it disappears, so does all magic. It’s up to witch-turned-daywalking-demon Rachel Morgan to fix the ever-after before the fragile balance between magic users and humans fails. Of course, there’s also the small fact that she caused the ley line to rip in the first place, and her life is forfeit unless she can fix it.

What made the experience of listening to Archangel's Storm the most enjoyable?

I enjoy Ms Singh's story telling.

How could the performance have been better?

The voices this narrator uses for characters are AWFUL. I can't understand her half the time and have to back up.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No...I am having a hard time finishing it because of the narration.
