Excellent content, honestly written, and very well read. Not a generic “how to be a badass in the woods”, more of a checklist-reminder to have your wits about you.

Great read, and excellently read by Mr Curless! My lone critique is that Barnabas’s character is written in an overly-prophetic style, that in my opinion sometimes detracted from the story. Absolutely no other upsets. A story to dream about.

"Having empathy means our heart goes out to another person in joy or pain," says Dr. Judith Orloff. "But for empaths, it goes much further. We actually feel others' emotions, energy, and physical symptoms in our own bodies, without the usual defenses that most people have." The Empath's Survival Guide is an invaluable resource for empaths who want to develop coping skills in a high-stimulus world while embracing their gifts of intuition, compassion, creativity, and spiritual connection.

Several passages made a real difference in how I view myself and what next steps I choose in my personal growth, and it offered insight for me on how to interact with some very empathic people in my life. At the same time, there are a few fallacies and incongruent tips in here, so as with anything I’d recommend taking her words with a grain of salt. I feel like Dr Orloff had her heart in the right place, but I would recommend doing more research - no blindly making big shifts based on what you hear.
