A ridiculous, nonsensical DISAPPOINTMENT

Jodi Taylor, who has done so beautifully for so long confused, irritated and disappointed me terribly. Her style of writing is still her own, and therefore enjoyable, but the plot meandered, without reason, from mystery, to inexplicable horror, to outright boredom, and then back around to absolutely surreal, nonsensical self contradicting horror show. It made no sense, it had no discernible plot, and the characters were all so shallow and one sided with no redemption whatsoever.

The performance by Kate Scarf was excellent.
but that does in no way redeem the book.
I listened all the way though hoping it would turn itself around and it just got worse and worse.Ugh!

No surprise here, Zara Ramm was once again brilliant! Her accents, timing and rhythm are flawlessly delivered! And the writing is absolutely excellent!

While she is an otherwise excellent performer, if I have to hear her swallow her saliva, loudly, into the microphone more than 8 times in one book AGAIN, I swear I’m going to set things on fire! ACK!

And Lorelei King has grown as a performer. This may be the first time I have admired Lorelei’s performance instead of tolerating or mildly enjoying it. Her cadence occasionally overrules the expression of emotion the reading requires. However in this performance cadence more often took a back seat, and her repertoire of accents has strengthened and grown. Well done.

I cannot say enough in praise of the sheer divine poetry of Ms Perdita Week’s vocal mastery! Her modulations of tone, her accents and dips in pitch, her use of sonorous volume and murmuring purrs. She nearly made me want to abandon speaking out loud, she is a gift.
The gorgeous writing draws you in with will and emotion, inspiration and devastation. The stories of gods and heroes made flesh, made real and tangible. This is a new favorite read and always will be.

I loved the stories, they found great humor in their experiences and in their pain. Their stories are deep, and real and human. But most of all they are triumphant!

The actor’s attempt at American accents is grating and difficult to bear, and the story is less than riveting bit on the whole it is a light, fun bit of fluff.

It took me fully 1/3 of the book to get accustomed to the narration style. It annoyed me greatly. Still does. But I muscled my way through it for the story.

I very Much enjoyed both of the story, and the performance. My only complaint is that the voice actress makes a lot of mouth smacking saliva laden noises which is a little cringe worthy.

The writing is great, incredibly detailed, inventive, intense storytelling in a masterfully created world, rich in depth and description. The relationships are notably adolescent in their emotional maturity, but that is in keeping with the protagonist's age and lifestyle. It is a bit like being run over by the Tank Of Nostalgia, but that's pretty enjoyable too. And I had no idea what a genius narrator Wil Wheaton was. He was a real treat to listen to. He manages the voice modulations, and expression, intensity and and attitudes so flawlessly! What an excellent performance!
